was there for 2 nights- We asked the a member of staff(I think it was the manager but she engaged in no conversation other than to ask what we wanted for breakfast) for a pint of ice and could I take a photo of the bar ( as I was leaving) She said she could not give us a pint... More

Like a previous review, we also went with our daughter and we're banished straight away to the family room. We we're literally ordered there. I had soup and a lump of baguette (the soup was actually quite nice), the other half had a tea cake (probably a supermarkets cheapest going teacake) and my father in law had a 'home made'... More

A comfortable and homely B&B hotel with evening meals as an extra. We had breakfast there every morning and ate one evening meal there and very enjoyable too: but we like to roam and try other establishments also. (We are the same at home and rarely eat at the same venue more than once say, every 3 months). One can... More

As my wife and I are regular viewers of the tenth re-runs of Heartbeat I treated my wife to a surprise one-night birthday trip to 'The Aidensfield Arms'. Our lovely room overlooked Scripps' Garage and Funeral business and, of course, lots of wonderful North Yorks Moors scenery. Understandably, given that it was mid-January, the hotel was very quiet and no... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in November for the Halloween weekend. Me and my partner with 2 children and 2 other families with children. The village of Goathland was very pretty and the Railway Station with the Steam train trip to Whitby was just fab !!! The hotel was very cosy and the food was good. It probably would... More

Glad you enjoyed our great village and railway and thanks for the great compliments on our food. I would just like to clarify that at no point do we state we are Child Friendly, this infers more than our small pub can provide. We have family bedrooms available, a public family room to socialise and dine in and provide games... More

Travelled from Western Australia again to stay here, nine nights, all thoroughly enjoyable thanks to the friendly staff. Great breakfasts as usual - Thanks Hannah, Sophie, Jean and Keith. Jean bakes some mean scones, worth trying some of the food and drink on offer. We were lucky to be there at the right time to enjoy an impromtu performance by... More

Stayed for 2 nights in October. Clean and comfortable, but definately no frills! Nice, freshly cooked breakfasts. £95 per night is a little steep considering everything. Room was dated, but not in a 'Heartbeat' theme, which would have been great. Staff were friendly - in a no nonsense Yorkshire way - but the breakfast lady was bordering on being rude... More

Really excited at the prospect of visiting the Aidensfield Arms made famous by Oscar & Gina - where the food was top notch the staff were less than friendly to the point of being stand offish and the rooms for £95 per night were basic but it still did not stop a superb one night stay which was enjoyed by...
