Weve just had a one night stay at this hotel before staying at york. The experience has been great, the staff are very friendly the food was great pub grub and good value for money the breakfast was 1st class with a nicely laid out table for us. Swapping and changing the menu around was no problem in fact nothing... More

First let me say the village and surrounding area is beautiful and exactly what we were looking for. As big fans of Heartbeat and that era we were excited to spend a night at the 'Aidensfield Arms' however the reality of this was pretty awful. When we arrived the weather was terrible and we were greeted by a friendly dark... More

Visited this establishment recently with my wife and two young children. We were literally the only customers in there and were told that we would have to go to the family room which was dated, grubby and generally uninviting. The staff were quite rude, the prices were high and there was a cold, awkward and unfriendly atmosphere. Really disappointed and... More

Stayed for 2 nights in October. Clean and comfortable, but definately no frills! Nice, freshly cooked breakfasts. £95 per night is a little steep considering everything. Room was dated, but not in a 'Heartbeat' theme, which would have been great. Staff were friendly - in a no nonsense Yorkshire way - but the breakfast lady was bordering on being rude... More

I entered this hotel with my 6ft, perfectly dressed, well mannered grandson of 14 and was shocked at the feeling of hostility directed towards us as we made our way to the bar area. I asked about food and was told I would have to take 'him' into the 'family room', where there were small children. This is no way... More

Really excited at the prospect of visiting the Aidensfield Arms made famous by Oscar & Gina - where the food was top notch the staff were less than friendly to the point of being stand offish and the rooms for £95 per night were basic but it still did not stop a superb one night stay which was enjoyed by... We went in here for a hot drink and scones/teacakes. Our daughter who is 9 loves Heartbeat and was excited to be sat in the 'Aidenafield Arms'. We were promptly told to go into the family room due to having children with us. Whilst the bar is nice as its just like what you see on the tv but the... More

Have just returned from 5th stay at the Goathland and enjoyed it just as much as previously. The service was excellent and the food and wine just as good as on other visits. The Heartbeat influence is very much in evidence in the hotel and the village itself.Gets very busy during the day with visitors arriving by train, coach, and car but quieter...
