Stopped here for just one night and was happy with the accommodation, was clean and the bed comfy. This B & B is also a pub which has its obvious advantages, pub food was ok and the beer better. Breakfast was fine and made better by the visit of Ozzie the very friendly lab.

We chose the Greyhound Inn to end a busy day searching out ancestry links in the Patrick Brompton area of Yorkshire. It is very handy to the A1. It is a very homely - in England that is a good thing - example of the highway inn of 200 years ago. The decor reflects that. Bedroom was comfortable and bathroom... More

3 nights stay recently/family break:on arrival told by receiving chef that in one bedroom cannot open window!Could feel every spring on mattress in this room;owner changed on request after bad nights's sleep;not without some debate! Second bedroom ok;but cannot imagine when windows and frames last cleaned?! Stayed for meal first night:sort of acceptable if you don't mind some chipped crockery,requested... More

I will only respond to one of these as they are both from the same people. To begin with you seem to have spent a lot of time looking for things to complain about, unfortunately only one of these was mentioned at the time, which was the mattress, this was rectified. You seem to question the food not sure why... More

Just had a 3 day break here.... Ok, BEDROOM- Window didn't open and according to the well sun faded sticker that is stuck to the window saying 'do not attempt to open window', evidently it hasn't for quite some months, or maybe longer, who knows? This lays the room open to a multitude of potential hazards for people with asthma... More

We've had just a couple of nights at this inn. It's small and cosy, just 4 bedrooms, with very good food. The breakfast was excellent and there was a great choice for the evening meal. The bedroom was very clean with a sofa and comfortable chair to relax after a busy day in the wonderful Yorkshire Dales.

We stopped off last minute late on a Friday evening and received a warm and friendly welcome. The room was large and airy and had its own separate TV/sitting area. It was really nice to be able to go down to the bar for a refreshing drink. We wished we had arrived earlier to enjoy the food that was on... More

We booked 2 nights which was confirmed by email as room 4 , on our arrival the landlord shows us to a room which he said was his bedroom, this room was not clean the carpet was stained and covered in dog hairs, the bathroom was very shabby and not clean, as it was the tour de france weekend we... I would like to apologise to you for the substandard condition of the room, no real excuse it was the tour-de-France weekend and the room was pressed into service to take an overbooking situation. The room has been done properly since and we have used it several times since with no complaints. If you would like to give us a... More

We stayed for 7 nights last week and were well looked after. Had the large Family room which gave us space to spread out. Very comfortable King Size bed so no problem sleeping. En suite shower etc.. Lovely view from the window. The breakfasts are generous and delicious. Mike added the personal touch by getting us the morning paper each... More

Thank you very much for your comments, must admit I don't notice the traffic myself but it is a bit of a rat run in the morning with people avoiding the A1 works. Glad you all enjoyed your stay with us, hope to see you again More

We had not been to this pub for quite a few years, so when in the area recently, we made a beline for it. Apparently the place had been closed for a while, and the present landlord took it over some time ago. He is really making a great job of it. The meals were first class, seating is either... More

This was a one night stop, on the way to seeing our son’s army passing out parade. We booked a family room and booking was quick and easy. We got there on steak night, and the food was excellent, amazing value for money. The room was large and airy for the three off us, with its own en suite. Breakfast... More
