We couldn't fault the service - friendly and with a smile. The food was hearty - I had the Steak and Ale Pie - delicious, my wife had fish and chips (looked good and the fish was huge!) and my son had the childs Fish and chips - very nicely presented.

Food good but terrible service from bar staff. Rude, abrupt and I hear to a table of elderly people that 'all bills are itemised' and that wouldn't split it. Not good if people don't want to lay together. Wouldn't rush back!

This is a nice pub with friendly staff who aim to please and provide good quality home made food in a proper pub atmosphere that doesn't try to be something it isn't, although the art and ornaments can keep you guessing which just adds to the fun. It's also dog friendly which makes an evening after walking a pleasure to... More

This is a lovely traditional pub and we received a very warm welcome from the bar maid when visiting for lunch. I had lasagne, which was delicious - very good quality minced beef, with no nasty bits in it, and plenty of it. It was really tasty. Homemade coleslaw equally as nice and homemade chips too. Only reason I've knocked... More

We stayed in the Coach House across courtyard so cannot speak for pub rooms - but we were definitely not happy with our room or facilities. Small, dark, and only ventilation was small window opening in bedroom onto courtyard - toilet and bathroom had velux windows which could not be opened when we requested - not allowed ! in case... I really respect people who try hard to make things work. Straight forward, down to earth quality inn with comfortable rooms and excellent food. They even make their own sausages and black pudding! If you're on the area. Please try it.

We visited on the bank holiday weekend and the old Hall inn were able to accommodate our large group. Very dog friendly, high chairs for the little ones and absolutely beautiful food. Thank you so much. Very highly recommended.

Stayed here for two nights over Easter. Wonderful setting, and great location within the Dales. Room was great, comfortable bed and everything you'd need for a short stay. Food is great, big portions and a good choice. We had breakfast and evening dinner both days. They even sorted a packed lunch for us on the day we went hiking. Cannot... More

A one night stay during March, snow on the hills and bitterly cold outside, a very professional member of staff greeted us and showed us to our room. The room to the rear of the Inn was clean and well appointed; I found the bed to soft for my liking, that is just down to me. Food in the bar... More
