I can not knock the room, beautiful. Plus our pampered dog could come too without a added charge being levied. Only thing we weren't impressed with was breakfast. The cooked breakfasts are tiny so you will need to fuel those long walks with the buffet selection. Also the quality of the breakfast on day one was super even if missing... More

I had high expectations of this hotel having read about it over the years and they were sadly not met. The decoration is a bit wacky but also odd in places so it feels amateurish. The situation is good with great views and the rooms are well appointed but for us lacking a sure touch in the decoration. It was... More

We went for a one-night Travelzoo package. The hotel is in a wonderful location with superb views of the River Wharfe, the small village of Burnsall and the surrounding fells. The first part of the package was the most disappointing: a cream tea without cream, consisting of some very ordinary cakes. We would happily have done without this and its... More

This was our third visit and we stayed overnight with family to celebrate their birthdays and anniversary. They got married here 5 years ago and the hotel has gone from strength to strength. The rooms are of excellent size and most overlook the river and Burnsall village. Excellent location to visit the Yorkshire Dales. Our evening meal was excellent and... More

We visited for one night using a Travelzoo voucher, which gave excellent value. Because there was only one date we could visit, and because I was slow on the uptake, we missed out on the garden view rooms included in the deal. However I was offered an upgrade for £20 which I agreed, as our dog could come with us... More

We stayed for one night with friends for a night on a dinner bed and breakfast deal. We booked two of the cheaper rooms but they exceeded our expectations. The only drawback was climbing the stairs to the second floor but once you were there both the rooms were bright and airy and the view was great. There were a... More

We stayed at the Devonshire Fell for 1 night in early March. The location is fantastic looking over Burnsall. We had a lovely room overlooking the fells. The room was a good size. We had a dog crate with us and there was plenty of room for it in the room. Our room was modern, clean and warm. There were some... More

We ate here on a Monday lunch time with 4 adults and 4 children. We had phoned ahead and they had set a table of 8 in the conservatory section of the restaurant with lovely views down to Burnsall and the Wharfe. Nice restaurant, nice tables and cutlery and tableware with good attention to little details that raise it above... More
