Visited many many times, returned after 8 months where has the atmosphere, friendliness and the French guy gone, its bland with a sandwich lunch option, bedrooms that look over the back car park, one may presume these were old staff quarters!! fabulous location but now severely lacking, time to book elsewhere.

My partner booked to take me away for a long walk, open fire and spa (you can use the Devonshire arms spa - which we did). When we pulled up there was a wedding fair at the hotel, which he wasn't told about. it was a little uncomfortable and we were pushed towards wedding stuff handed brochures - we had... More

We've just returned from a break at the fell. We live locally and wanted a couple of nights away with our 2 children - we know the place so booked a family suite for a couple of nights (we have a 2 and a 3 year old). The fell unfortunately isn't what I remember it - years ago when I... More

I booked a couple of nights in this hotel as a last minute treat for myself & my Husband, who recently had emergency surgery. We wanted somewhere quiet, and relaxing, but with the benefit of use of spa facilities to assist his rehabilitation. This place matched our needs. Upon arrival, the Hotel Manager, Martin, noticing that my Husband had crutches... More

We travelled with friends for afternoon tea having purchased a Groupon voucher, The hotel is in a wonderful setting sitting just above Burnsall Village with lovely views of the river and beautiful countryside. We were welcomed by the friendly staff and given our choice of tables from those available. The afternoon teas were excellent quality with a good variety of... More

I took my mum for afternoon tea for her birthday in December 2014 and it was lovely! We were sat in the conservatory with srunning panoramic views across the countryside. The atmosphere is relaxed yet it really does feel like somewhere you would go for a treat. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. Thank you!

We stayed overnight for the New Years Eve meal and celebrations and then brunch the following day. The set meal of six small courses was very varied, well cooked and presented. Would have liked an alternative option to the meat course offered both of us not beef eaters.. We took our two dogs with us and it was lovely to... More

Met friends for a New Year party, they weren't expecting us, BIG surprise. Better still hotel took pets. We took our Jack Russels Monty & Buster. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. breakfast a bit slow, probably expected after New Year Party using same staff.
