We stayed at The Red Lion whilst walking the Dales Way. It was a sunny day and the location was so convenient and idyllic. The room was comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and the food was good. It was interesting to read the history of the family working at The Red Lion from the time it was bought by... More

many thanks for taking the time to review us. We have around 6 walking companies that successfully use our hotel and our BB for their guests. When they book rooms which are normally done by email they always request rooms in The Manor House and also if there are any further requirements eg. dietary, bed size, baths, picnics etc we... Burnsall is a destination that me and my husband have come to as children, and for my birthday we decided that the highly recommend red lion would be the perfect place to stay... And they did not disappoint, the room a little bit quaint but full with all nessary amenities and a lovely greeting from the resident teddy. The food... More

We only stayed one night but have already recommended this place to all our friends as a lovely place for a short, relaxing break. The room was very comfortable and the bed huge even though we had booked a 'small double'. The food and drink selection in the bar was excellent and very well prepared and presented. Our only gripe... More

My and my partner stayed here as we were attending a wedding nearby, the room was very clean and to say it was small it had everything that we needed for the night! They had nice little touched dotted around the room such as nice bath soaps, a tray to make fresh coffee on and things like that! The bed... More

This hotel is faultless! Perfect location by the river and bridge in Burnsall. Really friendly staff at check in. Even tho we were 3 hours early for check in the lady gave us our key as we had a wedding to attend at the Devonshire Fell Hotel (a 5 minute walk) so we didn't have to go back to reception... More

Booked last minute for 4 adults (2 rooms). Arrived late at night and were confirmed for the Manor House. We arrived late at night, check in was easy and straight forward. Rooms were small (as advertised), clean and functional. Breakfast the next day was a nice selection of local foods. Staff were very helpful with local attractions and recommendations for... More

It's fine to have waiting staff from eastern Europe but not if their English is so poor that they can't take an order! Our waiter screwed up the food so that we ended up with one starter and one main, which was luke warm, between two people. With help from the manager it was put right but at these high... More

Firstly many thanks for taking the time to review us, now and again human errors do occur, for this we apologise, we do have some new members of staff who are learning the ropes very quickly, our waiting staff have a good grasp of English so this should not have been a problem again we apologise. We are glad to... More

We stayed here on our Dales Way walk. Everything was very welcoming and it is in a lovely location. Our room was spacious and overlooked the bridge and was very appreciated. We ate here in the evening with mixed results. Some was good and some not so good though service was friendly. All in all a mixed bag but the site is great.,

This was our first visit to Burnsall. We'd walked the delightful riverside path from Grassington and planned to stop for a pint in Burnsall before returning. What a pleasant surprise the Red Lion was! Super location, a perfect stopping-off point for weary walkers. The coffee was first class, hot and accompanied by hot milk on the side (unlike yesterday's dismal... More

We have just spent a wonderful weekend at The Red Lion (8th-10th May). Our room was superb with a beautiful view over the river and the food was excellent and plentiful. It was particularly lovely to have freshly squeezed orange juice (which you don't often get in hotels). All the staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. We enjoyed exploring... More
