We needed to book an extra room, which was not known at time of booking original 2 rooms. It was a very busy weekend and no spare rooms were available. The owner and staff went out of their way to find an extra bed which they put into one of the rooms booked in our party. The food in the... More

Having visited this establishment almost a year ago to the day I feel I could post exactly the same review!! For this reason I have downgraded my rating to average! None of the areas which I feel require attention have had any since my last visit i.e. shabby communal areas and the gents toilet in the bar area if anything... More

We stayed for 2 nights - in an annex room. The room was basic (we had booked a standard room) but very adequate. Nice touch - towel sculpture on the bed. The first night we ate in the Restaurant - good menu well cooked and presented with excellent service. Breakfast was good - typical Yorkshire - with plenty of choice.... More

I have just spent my 60th with family and friends at the George and Dragon with good wholesome Yorkshire food as the main event. (Fine dining is fine, but for a good party we wanted everybody to feel comfortable) The George's menu is just what was wanted (try the haggis and black pudding starter for a treat) and we had... After being told by 2 other establisments closer to where we are staying that they were full, we drove into Kirbymoorside & thought we would just ask in the George & Dragon if they had any tables. Although the restaurant was full we were welcome to sit & eat in the bar. So glad we did, the food was ordered... More

Just come back from spending two nights at the George and Dragon. Our room, which was in the old rectory and not in the main building, was basic and clean although a little dated. The food was very good and plentiful and staff very helpful.

Popped into the restaurant as we were visiting kirbymoorside. Lovely friendly staff and nice quaint place. Most of us ordered the haddock and chips. Not disappointed! Delicious and big portions. My other half had club sandwich which didn't disappoint!! Great value for money. Would definitely vidit again

I arrived at the hotel following a very long drive and was greeted by really friendly attentive staff. Check in was quick and efficient. My room was well equipped. The decor is a little outdated, but the room had everything I needed for a very comfortable night. The bed was very comfortable and the linen was pristine. The bathroom looked... More

We visited in July 2014 for a short four day much needed break. Arriving late afternoon we were created by pleasant friendly staff, who made us feel welcome and valued. this set the tone for the entire visit. Our room was in a separate building away from the main coaching house which had a secluded garden with fruit trees.Very pleasant... More

Last minute treat, of night away with my partner whilst working away in North Yorkshire. Great room with four poster bed, patio doors on a nice semi secluded garden with its own lawn and partially walled surrounds with plum and apple trees. Had a lovely, good value meal in the restaurant, with a first rate breakfast the following morning. Liked... More
