We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, one of the most attractive Jugendstil (art nouveau) buildings in Switzerland. It has been well restored outside and inside. On top it is in a great location with magnific views over the wide valley with lake and the mountains of the canton of Obwalden. Although Flüeli-Ranft, where the hotel is located is... More

I have given this some thought and, for the Hotel alone, it should be 5*, but as we stayed for our Christmas Holiday, I can only give it 4*. After travelling for two days from Hampshire, UK, we were all looking forward to a wonderful Christmas. The hotel is in a wonderful setting and the interior is perfect. Very nice... More

The Hotel Pax Montana is a reminiscent of the glory days of the Swiss Tourism.. The hotel has been completely renovated and has been left in its original state. The rooms are equipped with comfortable beds and a small desk; however with not much decoration, They look sterile and bare. There is no TV. Part of the well-being of the... More

The view from this place makes up for any of it's shortcomings. I loved the sound of the cowbells ringing all day and night - so soothing. As others have said, the rooms themselves are very simple, but with that kind of location, you shouldn't be hanging out in your room anyway. I was on the 3rd floor and if... More

This hotel is an amazing example of life in Switzerland. It is high up on a hill, with a view to die for no matter where you look. The accommodations are simple (no TV, radio, etc) but comfortable and the food was pretty good too. The best part was falling asleep at night to the tinkling of cow and sheep... More

This hotel looks great from outside.we found it difficult to find the parking area behind the building. Good and friendly reception. Room very bare: one bed, one table and chair, one set of drawers.no cupboard, just a set up with hangers.no decoration of any kind. No tv, no minibar. Excellent restaurant with panoramic view.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of July while on a Trafalgar Tour. Before we arrived, our tour director advised us that we would be staying outside of Lucerne at a hotel with no TV's and our room keys were just that...room keys. We couldn't get the bus close to the entrance and we... More

One of my prime irritations is the unclear bedding configuration on Hotel and booking websites. Again, a room with a single bed for me and my travel companion, instead of twin room ordered. Luckily, they still had a room in the hotel and allocated that to us. For the late night stress, I deduct one point in the rating (otherwise... More

If you stay at the Hotel PaxMontana allow yourself enough time to enjoy the breath-taking setting and the exquisite hotel. You will immediately experience a powerful and positive energy that makes you want to live every corner of the hotel. The amazing views over the lake and over the Alps are priceless. The external terraces are strategically positioned and the... More
