In Odda there are only 2 hotels: Vasstun and Hardanger. First is "so-so", second is even worse. I hope I won't return in this place for the second time. Service is nice. Everything other not so good. But u know, it's common problem in Norway at all.

Very good service. Excellent evening meal and breakfast was wonderful. Had a small room with bath. Shower drain allowed some water to run across the floor but nothing serious. Beautiful view from our room looking out on the mountains and water. From our experience in Norway, it was worth the money.
We needed an accomodation near Skjeggedal, the starting point of the path for Trolltunga, and we discovered this nice guesthouse in Odda.
We booked a small room with shared bath at 860 Nok per night breakfast included. With an extra of almost 200 NOk (drinks not included) we had an exceptional buffet dinner in a warm ambience.

The room should have been a double, but it was a 10-square-meters cubbyhole on the third floor, hot, not very clean indeed and rather stinky too. The price was exorbitant for what we had. Breakfast was decent and parking was free and these have been the only positive aspects of our stay. In my opinion, a place to be carefully...

My goodness, it is hard to fathom how this place can cost what it does. In July we have paid over 1700 nok (ROUGHLY 200 POUNDS) for 2 rooms that have a shared / communal showers and toilets. Aka backpacker style.
One room doesn't even sport a closet, let alone a t.v....
