Nothing too special about this hotel. Rooms are spacious. Beds were firm with very hard sheets. The curtains didn't close all the way. The bathroom was spacious but old. And unfrotunately, they advertised hot water. We had none, so no shower for me. But our friends in the other room had scortching hot water. Dont know which is worse. I... More

I was with my husband for our honey moon was terrible. Would not recommend at all. Only stayed one night. When we got the room, the bathroom was disgusting, smelled musty, was rusty and had ants. -The bed was hard and was out of adjustment, the air conditioner was too loud, but the worst thing was that I had a... This hotel is certainly over-selling itself on its website. While it is indeed a good value (~$60/night) and does indeed have a pool and restaurant and A/C and parking lot, it's about as basic of a hotel as you can get. (It's the equivalent of a Red Roof Inn for a beach town). The free "breakfast" included coffee and toast,... More

I just came back from a 3 day stay at this hotel with my husband and daughter. I was looking forward to the stay after reading such wonderful reviews but I must say that we were disappointed. 1. When we arrived and recieved our room we noticed the bathroom had not been cleaned. Used toilet paper in the basket, sand... More

Very inexpensive for what you get: king size bed, air conditioner, ceiling fan, cable, refrigerator and hot water. The owner definitely knows how to make you feel comfortable. The food at the restaurant might not be as good as I expected, but that doesn't mean that it was bad.

The owners were delightfully helpful and the room was clean and spacious. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of and we stayed an extra few nights because we enjoyed it so much (and it was very affordable). The beach is an immaculate, white-sand beach with little islands dotting the distance. You can walk... More

Great place to stay around Samara, just up the road from playa Carrillo a spectacularly beautiful, long, sandy, mostly empty beach lined by palm trees.

We have been in Puerto Carrillo Hotel for two nights. Owned by two Italians the place is nice, comfortable and quiet but rooms are not clean well enough and two of them didn´t had hot water during our stay. Also breakfast was not OK: coffee, milk, bread slices, a broken toaster, butter and jam … no juice, fruits, ham or... More

Your hosts at Puerto Carrillo Hotel are Silvio and Luka, who opened their laid-back, low-key and easy-going hotel in 2008. Silvio is very kind and helpful! You can listen to him greet his guests in 4 languages. The hotel is operated in the spirit of an Italian pensione - clean, comfortable room with no fuss, A/C, mini fridge, cable TV,... More
