Probably our favourite hotel in Malaysia. Spent three nights in Palm Villa. Hotel is small and intimate - a collection of gorgeously restored old houses, spaced around a swimming pool. Palm and Laguna seemed to be the nicest. One huge bedroom with indoor and outdoor sitting area, and a large bathroom. Wifi was good. Breakfast is delivered the night before... More

Spent 5 night here - 2 nights in the yellow villa and 3 nights in the laguna villa. The resort is small and peaceful and there's plenty of wildlife to see as well as all the cats! Spent a pleasant hour or so watching the geckos and was impressed by the rather large Monitor lizard that wandered past the villa... More

We were expecting a lot from this resort based on past reviews and 5-star prices. Yes, the houses are unique, very beautiful and tastefully decorated. But level of comfort and service are very disappointing. As a few examples: (1) We had to carry our luggages to the room notwithstanding the rain (2) The resort is mainly a refuge for cats... More

We are a group of three female friends from Australia, all well travelled. We arrived into Penang and after three days decided to try and avoid the big city in the heat on monsoon. We decided to travel to Langkawi and it was a great decision. None of us had been to Langkawi before so no expectations. Upon arrival we... More

We were recommended this resort by locals and it didn't disappoint. We actually stayed in the sister resort adjacent Temple Tree. Our room estate one was large, beautifully decorated and with all the comforts of a retreat type setting. The staff at both resorts were welcoming and engaging. The menu at Temple Tree and Bon Ton- both the local and... More

Stayed in Palm with my husband and two year old son which is perfectly positioned by pool. Beautiful houses which are sensitively equipped. For all those horror stories and I hate insects but I came across virtually none here and was bitten more in Penang. Gorgeous pool. We saw kingfishers, kites, eagles, herons and egrets whilst eating lunch and dinner... More

Coz this time is the family trip, I had booked the largest villa - Cahaya for 2 nights which max can stayed 5 person. I think you cannot use the staying at the normal hotel experience to judge this resort is good or bad. Coz it is the heritage! Moreover, I like the catsssss at the resort...they are lovely and... The resort is definitely very rustic and authentic. The wooden villas look beautiful but i have one comment, if you hate insects this is definitely not the place to be. I was afraid of even turning on the lights at night due to the insects that might enter the room. Apart from the bad insects/bats experience i think the resort... More

I typically favour boutique accommodation over glitzy mega-resorts, but this was a tad too rustic for me, especially in view of the not-so-rustic price. deal breaker- I could not get wifi from my villa (black coral) despite website advertising wifi throughout the resort. I am guessing that all resorts on the outer edge of the property will not be able... More
