Went to Parambikulam Wildlife on the first week of June 2014. Had planned a two night, three day visit. With reservations done a week ahead, reached Pollachi in the morning. Got into the Tamil Nadu Govt bus services to reach Anapady, the base area of this forest (within Kerala range). Day one- Stayed in a tented niche. The accomodation was... More

It was a very good stay deep in the woods. We saw lot of wild animals. The food was excellent.the service was outstanding. The only problem was that the tent were very close to each other. We stayed at the tented niche which was nice. The bathroom was clean and neat.It could have been better if the tent was splited in the forest or if... Is it still relevant? Sort of. I toured parks and reserves all over India using the Insight Guide to Indian Wildlife. The guide book was brilliant and there has since been a re-print but I haven't used that. I was interested in seeing Lion-tailed Macaques but the area where they live was out of bounds for tourists. We stayed in... More

Parambikulam is undoubtedly the best south indian wildlife sanctuary with well disciplined and freiewndly guides and attractive packages. Best time to visit would be from August to January. Different kinds of Accomodations available through website, www.parambikulam.org and through kerala forest department. Had an overnight stay in the middle of the jungle. Great food. There are three dams around. Jungle safari,... More

That was lovely! Stay in to the jungle in the Treetop Hut surrounded by teak wood trees and pleasant sounds of thousands of insects and birds........ Lovely! Totally maintained by Forest department. They offer all meals, A trekking, boating (Rowed by Forest Dept Personnel) and a safari. Always one guide accompanies you. Though (April) this time was dry I enjoyed... More

A sanctuary at the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu....it wasn't the best experience as we reached there by mid day only(wrong time of the day). The actual safari trip was OK. We were able to catch sight of few wild elephants by the river and then few antlers. Since it was noon time so it was also very hot.I... More

I stayed for 2 days of birding watching in the tented camp at the start of Jan 14. The tented camp was perfectly adequate to stay in. The only downside on arrival was being shown on our arrival where the rats were getting in to the tent & being told to leave anything edible in a steel cupboard. We asked... More

I am torn between writing about the beauty of the being in the clean reserve and the ageing experience with dealing with the people who work there. It was an intensely difficult process trying to arrange a tour and stay at Parambikulam. We were travelling from far away and only had 2 days to spare so it was imperative that... More

My second trip and I would want to go there again and again. I consider Parambikulam as the best among all the sanctuaries of kerala(not visited Silent Valley and Aralam yet). How can I forget our honey moon there. This time I stayed in Thunakkadavu as well as Parambikulam Tree huts. Last time we stayed in Thellikkal rest house and... More

If you go onto their website, this seems like paradise. But it’s not! This reserve is government run and there was a lot of bureaucracy despite our reservation – papers, papers and more papers! We stayed in the Tented Niche area and the accommodation is extremely basic and something more suited for a backpacking holiday. The bathroom had an Indian... More
