We spent one night in this hotel while touring Iceland. We were 3 people. We received a room in a long cabin. The room was large enough, clean, well heated, quite, and comfortable. The beds - comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean, amenities worked well, and the towels were crisp clean. Our buffet breakfast was adequate and the seating very... More

Nice location outside of Egilsstadir in a wooded area near a lake. The rooms are relatively large and clean. The shower is good with good flow of water. There is free wifi only in the lobby area and not in the rooms, it disconnects frequently. Breakfast is served in a beautiful room overlooking the lake and it is a standard... More

I spent one night here during a self-drive tour around the island; the tour operator booked this property for me. The hotel consists of a main building and a "guest house" located just a few meters away. My room was booked in the guest house. Overall, it was quiet, clean and also had a shared kitchen (I wasnt staying long... More

We stay here Aug 12, 2015 during our Iceland tour with Globus. The room is clean and big. The food is very good on local food. The only thing need improve is wifi. In our room we hardly can get signals. Sometimes only can get one bar of signal in the room.

Hotel is set in gorgeous wooded area, overlooking Lake. Lots of hiking and activities nearby. Has the feel of a quaint lodge, but with modern amenities. Very clean. Great Indian restaurant (one of best meals we had in Iceland) and a buffet that we did not try. Good breakfast. Downsides were the rooms were very loud, and heard other guests... More

It is a little out of town but the rooms are nice. Some room have been renovated. Old ones still looked ok. Restaurant has a good range also offers a banquet. Deck Spa outside till 10pm. Free Wifi throughout. Breakfast was good.

We stayed here for 2 nights, its around 20 km from Egillsstadir (the nearest town), and is in the middle of the forest. The car park is quite small, especially as there are a number of coach parities that use it. The meal basis is a fixed price buffet. Its not cheap, but you can have as much as you... More

A pleasant stay along a peaceful lake, with comfortable rooms and a good restaurant, with a large array of fresh food. Young and kind personnel but be aware: the hotel closes at midnight, so don't indulge in late walks!

The Hotel Hallormsstadur was very comfortable place for our overnight in Egilsstadir. The indoor/outdoor dining outlet was inviting for guests to spend their 'Happy Hour' before dinner. The room was in good size and welcoming with great view. The only problem was the lack of WiFi in the room. The only WiFi available was the reception area. On a sunny... More

The location is fantastic. The hotel is in the middle of the forest close to the lake. There are a number of walking trails starting from the hotel and going through the forest. We just stayed one night and so only had time to do one, which was called The Strain. It went up the mountain at the back of... More
