The owners are very welcoming and their estate is very charming. Breakfast and dinners were excellent. Monique also recommended nice attractions as well as local restaurants. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

Monique was such a wonderful hostess to us. We were traveling with our two year old son and that can be a challenge but Monique made it so easy. We had the child friendly Oliver room, complete with small furniture and toys in a separate area for kids. It was a beautiful property, think out of the pages of a... More

Invited at a wedding near Carcassonne, we decided to make it a proper family holiday and stayed at la Rougeanne for a week in mid-July 2014. As Mentioned many times, the gardens, house and rooms are simply stunning and provided us with the perfect settings for resting and relaxing after our daily outings. Late afternoon swims were particularly popular. Monique... More

Loved everything. Quiet small village near Carcasonne. We stayed two nights. The first night we had dinner at Rougeanne and it was excellent with very generous portions. Our starter was a melon dish that is unique to the area. We also were served a very good and large chocolate mouse. The next night we ate in the village and wished... More

We are not able to get together too often as a family for holidays. Our son has just graduated and just before he starts his new job our daughter was able to arrange a few days from her busy schedule too. As usual, Mum's thorough research came up trumps in finding La Rougeanne. The beautiful house is very tastefully furnished... More

I really enjoyed staying here. The house is lovely, the room that we had was great , the food was good but the owner was really great. I liked her, she had excellent English and a Very freindly way about her. Don't expect anything extraordinary. It's a good friendly place to stay.

I first stayed at La Rougeanne nine years ago, about a year after Monique & Paul-André opened the house. Nine years later, the hosts are still very welcoming, nice & charming. The house has evolved, of course, but it has kept the very spirit I fell in love with long ago: a quiet, peaceful house, beautifully renovated, facing the Montagnes... More

I spent 7 days altogether in this beautiful B & B, and enjoyed every minute of my stay. The atmosphere is wonderful - tastefully decorated rooms, classical music playing, extraordinary views from the terrace outside my room, and a warm welcome. The table d'hote evening meal is taken together with the other guests, and the food (all freshly cooked by Monique,... More
