We went to this pub as we were staying at The George and wanted to go somewhere to eat without driving and only 50m from George. The Tally Ho is a old local pub with lots of character ,beams ,flag stones and a nice log burning fire with comfy seats near it so you just sit and enjoy your drink.... More

went for a meal in the Tally Ho, not an extensive menu but beautifully cooked and served by friendly staff. I had a beef stew which was rich and tasty and just what was need on a cold rainy night. The vegetables were cooked to perfection

We were in the area for two nights and decided to try the Tally Ho for a meal. Absolutely wonderful, plenty of choice and delicious fresh food, huge portions, did not leave room for pud unfortunately. Staff were amazing, would recommend.

We were staying 2 nights at the George which is over the road from this pub, but on our second evening decided to eat here as the menu looked so good. This pub has great atmosphere and given that this is a small village it was full of locals and visitors so it had a lively atmosphere. The food was fresh... More

We stayed at this pub for two nights while we went to a wedding in the local area. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. The food also was very good, big breakfasts and the selection of evening meals was extensive. We went for the curry which was very tasty.

We visited this pub as it looked very inviting from the menu displayed. The food was very good and so was the friendly and quick service. My only small issue would be that it was very noisy as we were near the area, if this could be separated a bit it would be excellent. But definitely worth a visit. Will... More

We spent the day cycling up from Plymouth and, after the hills on the moor, we were glad of this place! They had a garage to lock up our three bikes and served a great 14oz steak in the bar. Friendly staff with a good attitude.

Small, charming, ancient and immensely friendly, the Tally Ho is right in the centre of what is probably Devon's most picturesque village. There is another pub named the George, which burned down a few years ago and thus isn't quite as genuine. Factions seem to exist between the pubs, and I gravitated towards the Tally Ho. There are rooms, but... More
