Thomas Roberts House was a school in 1797. It was divided, but is now restored to a single house with three guest bedrooms. Angela Caddy is a most attentive hostess, and is happy to tell guests about the history of the house. The rooms are large, comfortable and beautifully furnished and decorated. The breakfast was excellent, taken at a large... More

What a truly fabulous B&B! Travelling from the north Devon coast to the south, this was our midway point. Unfortunately we only stayed here the one night, for the first time. The proprietor, Angela (husband Steve clearly prefers to remain behind the scenes) cares passionately about her business and has got the art of running a B&B spot-on. We had... More

where do I start, what a fantastic place to stay. from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Angela, the beautiful Georgian house is spotless and would put a lot of good quality hotels to shame. the bed in the room we stayed in was so comfortable we had to ask who the mattress was... A beautiful Georgian house with a very warm welcome from Angela complete with Cream Tea, both Devon and Cornish style. Spacious, luxurious, beautifully decorate bedrooms, a superb, breakfast of fresh, local wholesome food - what's not to like here? Within walking distance of many pubs and eating places. Friendly, helpful hosts - thank you!

Many other reviewers have enjoyed their stay as much as we did and we echo their praise of the rooms and the cream tea welcome. The breakfast we found to be equally as good. We enjoyed looking around Hatherleigh and the food and atmosphere in the very friendly Tally Ho pub made our stay a joy.

We had a lovely stay at RTH following a very long cycle ride. The room was lovely, the cream tea very welcome and Angela super landlady (she even washed some clothes for us - much beyond the call of duty).

It's our second stay here & what a sound nights sleep we had. The rooms are beautifully decorated & even Alex Polizzi would have a problem finding faults in this place. Impeccably tidy rooms, cleanest bathroom I have ever seen. Angie makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. The breakfast is a celebration of local... More

This is a lovely house and Angela the owner is very welcoming. We had a nice cream tea on arrival. Only complaint is the noisy guest! Someone shouted 'hello' very loudly in the entrance hall at 3.45am. Guests in room next to us are making a lot of noise, or there is no soundproofing. Seems they are opening every drawer,... More

I stayed here the night before a yoga course with BSY which is a simple twenty minute drive from Hatherleigh. My room was large, extremely clean and tidy, with wonderful facilities, some of which you don't get in hotels!. The house is large and airy, and has lots of history which is really interesting. The hosts Angela and Steve are... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Thomas Roberts Guest house at the beginning of May. The attention to detail during our stay was second to none. The room was not only comfortable but elegant and above all immaculate. Our breakfast was a delight both to the eye and the taste .nothing was too much trouble it... More
