Martin and Myles are tremendous hosts who welcome you into their 1862 Inn decorated in period appropriate furniture with stunning garden and a view of the river in front. Their delicious breakfasts and hospitality make you feel at home. Lots of knowledge about local attractions and restaurants. This is my 11th visit!

I stayed at the Morton House while visiting the area for an event appearance. The property is lovely. The room that I stayed in is well appointed and has a nice en suite bathroom. Martin, one of the owners, did a great job of making me feel welcome. Breakfast is served at 8:30 am each morning and it was quite... More

Martin and Myles have restored this wonderful home and its gardens immaculately! Every room is a beauty. The gardens are a feast to the eye. And the Mersey River is just across the street. And then there are the hosts, who are so well informed. And then there is the breakfast - fabulous eggs benny. This b & b could... More

The house is located on the Mersey river near Liverpool Nova Scotia and offers lovely grounds, beautiful, well equipped rooms with great hosts and serves a superb, full course breakfast to set you on your way. A quiet, relaxing spot that I will definitely return to in the future.

A very nicely cared for old house. The owner was absolutely wonderful to us. He made us a great Eggs Benedict breakfast. The front porch overlooked a river and all was very peaceful. We expressed interest in the history of the place and he had a treasure trove of information. My only issue was that the bed was a tad... More

We enjoyed our stay very much. The property has lovely well maintained gardens. The house has been restored lovingly to the original home. We were welcomed and made comfortable by Martin, one of the hosts. Our room was very comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was delicious. Martin was helpful, thoughtful and very informative of the house and area. He recommended on... More

We received a nights stay here for Xmas from my sister. The location is wonderful with access to the Mersey River just across the road. Wonderful grounds to enjoy and a veranda with great chairs and a porch swing. The house is a registered heritage property and area is rich in history. The room was clean and large and the... More

After moving from Milton over 30 years ago, I was excited to be able to spend a night in a house in my old neighborhood. I cannot say enough nice things about the home! After being renovated by the current owners, I believe it's returned to a splendor not seen by the century-old home in many years. The parlor, library... More

We arrived very tired after an overnight flight from Calgary to Halifax and then had to drive to Milton on the wrong side of the road - having come from New Zealand. So to drive up to this most elegant home, with the most beautiful grounds and to be met by Martin at the door was just such a wonderful... More

My spouse and I stayed four nights at the Morton House Inn, which has the aura of the Victorian nouveau riche, set amidst towering locust trees on the Mersey River, Nova Scotia. Colours are dark, and the well-worn furnishings lend an air of opulence just before the fall. (And indeed, when the lumber boom went bust in the late 1880s,... More
