I moved to Leicester for work and it was proving to be quite a stressful and transient time with moving from one hotel to another. I saw the reviews for horseshoe and thought I'd give it a bash in the hope of finding somewhere I could base myself a bit longer term. I'd had some bad experiences in my first... More

Flown the nest…..like all kids you keep coming back! Long term guests become friends and it is great that they keep coming back. The door is always open and we look forward to your visits although Carlsberg has been replaced with Charnwood Cider made by Cider Rob. When you are away from home week in and week out it certainly... More

Linda and Tim are so hospitable. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped into their beautiful home. We had a spotlessly clean room (chain hotels take note) which had some lovely little touches, including the organic toiletries which were superb. The house is complemented by a stunning garden which looks out onto open countryside. Breakfast was... More

Thanks very much for your great comments. We do try and give our guests a nice stay and you are right we are in a great position, just opposite Bradgate Park, backing onto Swithland woods and with a plethora of footpaths to enjoy. Our garden is lovely at this time of year and a nice sanctuary after a day out... More

Linda and Tim were the perfect hosts and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The room was very comfortable and our children enjoyed making friends with the dogs, the horse and the chooks! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and very much look forward to our next visit.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Next time you come to visit your sister locally you must make time to visit some of the attractions in the area. The girls would love Bradgate Park just opposite us here as it is full of wild deer, a ruined house of the 9 day Queen and ancient trees that tell... More

We stayed for one night at the Horseshoe cottage farm b&b and we are sat wishing we could have stayed longer!!. Linda and Tim are the most accomodating hosts you could wish for, nothing is too much trouble and they make you feel right at home. We had booked a meal at the Grey Lady and Linda herself dropped us... More

I know it was a special weekend for you both and we always try to make it that little bit extra special. You were so lucky with the weather which enabled you to have lovely walks in Bradgate Park and Swithland Woods and to top it all breakfast outside….the first of the year. Do come again! More

We were made very welcome by our hosts with pots of tea and freshly baked scones, which we took in the beautifully appointed dining/living area. Other guests squeezed up to allow us to watch the boat race. We found this delightful old farm property from Wolsey Lodges and luckily found space to accommodate us and our 2 children. Linda very... Home now, having spent 2 nights with Linda and Tim. It has been a lovely break, with great food, good company and in a beautiful setting. There is so much to do in the area, I shall be returning and staying here, it felt like staying with friends :) One thing to bear in mind, if you aren't comfortable around... More

We are so glad you enjoyed yourself and that you have now booked your parents in for a stay later in the year. The dogs are part of the household but we are well aware that they are not to everybody's liking and they will be shut away should visitors prefer not to come into contact with them. More

I've lived in the Leicester area previously and had to return there for a few weeks to work. I knew the area I wanted to stay in and the Horseshoe cottage did not disappoint. Perfectly located next to Bradgate park, the cottage is traditional and done out to a high standard. As soon as I walked through the door it... More

I was contracted to the area for 5 weeks and looked for somewhere quiet to stay, as I am a light sleeper. I found Horseshoe Cottage Farm within my commute area, and booked myself in. The hosts, Linda and Tim, were most welcoming. I was greeted with a cuppa, and Linda carried my bags to my room. They can also... More
