This barn conversion oozes character, second only to the exceptionally warm welcome by Linda and Tim. On arrival I enjoyed fresh coffee and flapjack which was very much appreciated. Whilst Linda prepared a delicious dinner, I worked by the open log fire lit especially for me. The breakfast eggs were the best I have ever tasted - there's 'happy free... More

It can be very lonely staying away from home for work, especially at the weekend and we try to lessen this by extending a warm welcome to all our guests. Our hens are currently pecking away round the garden ready to lay lots more eggs for brekkie. I am doing a marmalade course locally but maybe a bit far for... More

Considering the price we paid there are a few things that could be improved here. We arrived an hour early at 3 pm although we knew the room was not supposed to be available till 4pm. It was a freezing cold day so sat around in our coats.until the fire was lit around the dreaded 4pm "I will bring you... More

We are sorry that you feel this way but on booking I did ask you to arrive after 4pm and this is clearly stated on our website. You are right it was a cold day but sunny and the heating comes on at 3pm to ensure that the rooms are lovely and toasty for guests arrival. We suggested that you... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here on Christmas eve. Our hosts were kind enough to open for us even though they were in the middle of their family celebrations, and they went to so much trouble. On arrival we were greeted with tea, mince pies and Christmas cake by the log fire, and they got a Christmas-tree shaped brioche for... More

It was a pleasure and we thank you for your lovely review. We try to make every stay special whether it is for leisure or business but Christmas time is so nice to spoil guests just that little bit more. We wish you both a very happy and healthy new year and hope to see you again soon. More

Horseshoe Cottage Farm is a rural sanctuary located on the edge of Bradgate Park, an 850-acre estate, in Charnwood Forest, Leicestershire. The guest rooms in a beautifully renovated stable are well appointed and we enjoyed the sitting room with Inglenook fireplace and large Christmas tree. We were offered a choice of four hot breakfast options - go for the perfect... More

I am just home from 2 nights here and, again, a lovely experience. Linda and Tim go out of there way to make sure everything is perfect for their guests, in fact it feels like I am staying with old friends and this is only the second time I have stayed here. My bedroom was delightful with very high beamed... More

Again it was a pleasure to have you to stay and we look forward to your next visit to see your family. Come in the spring and find time to visit NT Stoneywell Cottage just 10 minutes away, a joy at anytime of year but wonderful when the daffodils are out. More

My partner and I attended a family wedding at a nearby hotel. I had never stayed in a B& B before and am very fussy so my partner had his work cut out from the start - the boy did good though as Horseshoe Cottage Farm ticks all the boxes. The accommodation was beautifully presented and we could not have... More

A lovely wedding night in a large comfortable room with large bathroom and bath tub. This bed and breakfast is secluded with great parking facilities and has lots of original farmhouse character. The hosts were very friendly and added a number of personal touches to the stay. I'd recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone visiting Leicester who wants easy... More

From the initial telephone contact, through the helpful advice on a traumatic journey, to our eventual arrival we believed that we were assured of a wonderful welcome and stay....we were NOT disappointed. You poor things arrived so frazzled after a horrendous journey and leaving your own B&B with a flooded kitchen we were delighted to provide you with a warm welcome, some TLC and a large drink!!!! I have just returned from having 2 nights in Horshoe Cottage Farm and was delighted by the place. Your are most welcome to return again and again, it was a pleasure having you to stay. We are nice and convenient for your family and as you say, ideally placed for a nice walk in Bradgate Park or Swithland Woods. I agree with you about the pillows, so often they do not come up to the standard of home... More
