We have just returned from a two night stay and thought Horseshoe Cottage Farm was most impressive. The place is filled with character and warmth and the welcome from our hosts was nothing less. All the rooms are good sizes, clean, homely and oozing with old world charm. The breakfasts were really first class with ample cereal, fresh fruit and... More

I stayed for one night with a friend as we going to a party in a neighbouring village. A deceptively large accommodation which the hosts were very happy to share with guests. A warm and friendly welcome. Very comfortable and charming bedroom which has lots of character and also modernised. Breakfast was taken in the garden and very generous with... More

Thanks for the nice review. We aim to provide the highest of standards and welcome to our home. You were blessed with a glorious morning for breakfast outside following the party the night before. Maybe we will see you in the future and you can spend some time exploring this lovely area. More

Nice place, ample secure parking, lovely area and to begin with a friendly stay. The whole experience was spoiled for us by a) a very small breakfast for one person certainly not the feast noted in the B&B publicity, b) being told (ourselves and 4 other people) we had to be quiet for the benefit of two other guests who... This was our second stay and this time we brought along family too. What a wonderful welcome! This bed and breakfast is the best we have stayed in. Charming yet unpretentious, it is easy to feel at home. The rooms have lots of character, are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is great in a lovely dining room opening onto a patio... More

We are delighted that you have returned and that once again you were pleased with your stay. It is so nice that you were able to show your grandson Bradgate Park where you were brought up, the wonderful old trees and the secret places you used to go as a youngster. We look forward to your next visit soon. More

We stopped off for 3 nights at the end of a tour of the southwest of England, and having experienced the rest, I have definitely now experienced the best! Whilst you will appreciate the comfort of the rooms and lovely surroundings, it is the warmth of the welcome that makes Horseshoe unique, my wife and i travel with work but... More

Thank you both very much for such a great review. I must add that you made hosting very easy and we enjoyed your company and look forward to your return visit when the DIY is needed in Anstey. Next time make a bit of time for yourselves to visit some of the nice sites in the area, More

My head office is near by and living in the south east I am required to spend nights away in the area north of Leicester. After trying all the desultory hotels in the region I took a leap and tried Horseshoe Cottage. That was over four years ago and I have been back on a regular basis ever since. Why?... More

Thank you Stephen, for your kind words. I think time has flown for you as i am sure you have been staying here longer than 4 years! We shall miss you when you finally retire at the end of this year but hope you will come and stay when visiting the area. More

We stayed here, as we needed to stop off on the way back from a sports event, and it had to be near Welbeck DSFC. We were very tired, but the welcome we got couldn't have been warmer. Linda had cooked us a terrific homemade meal, and we took our own wine. The living room with open fire is so... More

Linda and Tim did a wonderful job of looking after us in our recent stay in Cropston. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. Linda really went out of her way to meet our needs, including making some special soda bread for my wife who has a yeast allergy, Linda's homemade bread and marmalade is lovely, and... More

Thank you for your review. We have had some thoughts on your comments regarding the lack of view from the window and it would make a lovely private terrace there and will be more peaceful now the building work on our neighbours house nears completion. Some nice planters and a small table and chairs with the shrubbery cut back, will... More

Had to be away from home for a few nights on business. Linda and Tim took away the pressure of anonymous hotels by providing a relaxing, homely and refreshing place to stay. Linda's cooking is fabulous - would really recommend pork in madeira sauce with seasonal veg. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with really good quality organic toiletries. The... More

Without a doubt, one of the best decisions we made in the planning of our wedding was to have the reception at Horseshoe Cottage Farm.
