A historical hotel in a small typical Ticino village (very narrow roads). The rooms have nice interior, the building iteself is rather old but well maintained. Noise from outside depending there your room lies. Inside noise depending on the other guests, you here sometimes people walking over the floor. Some rooms have spectacular view down to the lake and the... More

During our five dasys stay at this hotel, we got really enthusiastic about it. The historic building in the middle of the small town of Carona has been carefully renovated and offers a lot of confort at an affordable price. The beautiful garden is ideally suited for relaxing from either a hiking trip or a busy visite of nearby Lugano.... More

A wonderful find in little Carona. We were just exploring the area above Lugano and were looking for a place to stay for one night. Serendipity brought us together. We just happened to drive by and there just happened to be 2 rooms available. This hotel is a meandering drive up the hill to the south of Lugano. I am... More

Stayed here one night on our way to Milan. Not easy to get to because the road is uphill, narrow and quite a long way. However from the minute we arrived at the hotel we entered a different world. Peaceful, quiet, nice ambience and such nice and warm staff. We got a room at the top floor. Great bed and... More

We love this excellent hotel. We have been a couple of times and it just never disappoints. The staff are excellent and Jurg and Cornelia run a great team. The gardens are so peaceful and is is within easy reach of many great walks and cycling areas. The rooms are all lovely, fromthe standard double, to the best suite, all... More

We only stayed one night at Villa Carona but were glad we made a stop at the place. The hotel has an ambient atmosphere and the beautiful garden and the small details made us feel very welcome. We decided to eat dinner at the hotels restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised about the service. The waiters were very friendly and... More

wonderful gardens, lovely people and a scenery beyond imagination! Not for the newly rich, only for the experienced traveller that knows the world. Rooms are between luxurious suites and good three star comfort. Very good breakfast with local specialities and always a welcoming smile. We sat in the garden in the sunshine and enjoyed the tranquility and fresh air with... More

Beautiful hotel in a Swiss hill town, the staff and owners are very helpful, the honesty bar great and the breakfasts superb, allow plenty of time to eat in the garden soaking up the amazing views and don't miss the hotels own restaurant

Very expensive, with a ridiculously expensive restaurant. They make a big thing about being a classic Swiss hotel, 200 years old, etc., but mainly that meant that the walls were thin and the floors squeaky, so the room was noisy all evening and much of the night. We asked to move to a quieter room, but were told they were... More

Unaccomodating receptionist (male), although there was plenty of availablity inflexible to change rooms. Close to the road, no view of the valley or the lake, old house squeking and shaking floors, paper thin walls, can hear all conversations and bathroom flush from next door and upstairs to keep you awake. Terrible quality thin beds to give you backache. Long way... More

We feel sorry that you were feeling uncomfortable staying with us. The man at the reception was me, Mr. Deubner, the owner and manager of the hotel. I did my best in trying to find a solution for a room change. Unfortunately it was impossible which is not unusual as we were fully booked. The Hotel Villa Carona is a... More
