The Hotel Alpsu is a classic, Swiss-style family hotel. Friendly service. Clean. Fairly basic rooms that are perfectly comfortable. Very good kitchen. (The night I was there they were shooting an episode for Swiss TV of a show called "Mein Restaurant, Dein Restaurant -- a competition between five restaurants in different parts of Switzerland. The owners were understandably pretty excited,... More

My husband and I have stayed at Hotel Alpsu three times, in both winter and summer, and we have been delighted every time. Our hosts are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are charming with lots of carved wood. Breakfasts are excellent, but it is important to have dinner in the restaurant. It features a number of Graubündner specialities, including... More

Reception was very fast, but the room was not fully prepared, they had 4 beds for us, but only three were made. But they filled out the missing very fast, the location is great, everything is wooden. We slept like Swiss bears and enjoyed a nice breakfast. The parking is on the street and the picture is somewhat misleading, but... More

I have in my possession an out-of-print book of historic Swiss churches. One picture in particular always fascinated me and it was the Benedictine abbey in Disentis. It looked like the Spanish Steps church of Trinità dei Monti...with an Alp behind it! So about ten years ago in and August that had us suffering in Rome in Milan, we arrived... More

Hotel was ok as we were travelling through by train. Of course you pay more for 3 star in Switzerland but the room was good and the restaurant served good food. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Would have preferred to eat out so if logistics allow next time we would try a hotel in Illanz. It was just... More

This is the best value hotel in the alps I have ever stayed in. The owners are charming, helpful and run a very tight ship. The breakfast is delicious with high quality bread and pastry, good milk and excellent jam. We ate dinner twice, once a la carte and once demi-pension. Both excellent and the d-p exceptional value. The pizzeria... More

I am just concluding a weekend in Disentis. We were in Milan on business and had the weekend free so came for a skiing vacation here. Decided to stay at the Hotel Alpsu and I totally lucked out. It is a family owned and operated charming small hotel - 14 rooms - in the heart of the small village, 3... More

Disentis / Mustèr is well located in the upper Rhine Valley at the junction of the roads from the Oberalppass and Lukmanierpass, which makes it difficult to find an accomodation distant from these roads, which in the summer are crowded with tourist vehicles. The Alpsu Hotel is located on the way to the Oberalppass just after the junction, so I... More

Switzerland is excessively expensive, so that means when you pay 87Chf for a room, you cant expect too much. But thats where I was very pleasantly delighted with this hotel. Usually rooms in Europe at that price are pokey, and you may or may not have a bathroom. This place, the first impression when I walked into my room is,... More

We stayed two nights in this hotel and we enjoyed the" rustical" room very much indeed! It is on the second floor so you need to climb up two stairs. From the very welcome of its owner, Mrs Annalisa, we enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of a family run small hotel (14 rooms). Nice breakfast with cold cuts, cheeses selection, various... More
