My wife and I stayed at the Petit Illyria for three days in early September. This just may be the best place we have ever stayed! Gary Johnston is a fine host. The B&B is old, restored, clean, comfortable, beautiful, warm and welcoming in every way. Gary is gregarious, knowledgeable, and a delightful person. And...we have never eaten such wonderful... My wife and I and 3 friends have just returned from a three night stay at Petit Illryia. And I have to say it was one of the very best B&B's I've ever stayed in. Wish I'd booked a years stay instead!!! The house is beautifully decorated and very clean. It has a very relaxing garden with a wealth of... More

Excellent location for town and local site seeing. Comfortable, very clean rooms with parking outside and locked garages for our motorbikes. English is spoken. It is located on a quiet main road so easy to navigate to.

Although the owner was a very nice person and a wonderful chef, the rooms are very outdated nor particularly clean with stains on pillow sham covers and debris on the carpet. Also included dirty plastic cups in the bathroom. We reserved in advance the"table d'hote" dinner which is normally a set price fixed menu and per the literature on site... More

This was a great find, a really comfortable Chambre d'Hote with the warmest welcome from Gary who is also a wonderful Chef so we had the pleasure of having our dinner here too. The food is seriously good and we had a great sleep in our very comfortable bed. We would definitely stay here again.

We found this B&B through a motorcycle magazine advert and were pleasantly surprised on our arrival. There is a large, secure garage for our bike and a large colourful garden for us. The room was airy, comfortable and spacious. No TV was a bonus and we don't mind not having facilities for making instant coffee as we prefer the real... More

We stayed for three nights at this lovely, tranquil B&B on our visit to the Normandy Beaches and Mont St. Michel. Had read a couple of negative reviews, but since most were positive, we decided to book. BEST DECISION! Gary was kind, warm and made you feel right at home. The food was wonderful, the gardens beautiful and the Gin... More

I arrived for six nights with some trepidation given the mixed reviews. I now cannot understand the negative reviews. Of course it depends on your expectations. I did not go expecting to find TV in the room, with tea and coffee making facilities, or internet connections. I go to the likes of an Ibis or Mercure hotel for these facilities.... More

Very friendly English-speaking owner. Nice big room. Lovely backyard that can be used for relaxing or playing cards in. Wonderful breakfast. Very convenient location for visiting American Cemetery and Mont St. Michel.
