enjoyed a lovely meal here a couple of evenings ago. It's not the cheapest place around but the quality of the food is worth it. Service was first class too. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

A very pleasant experience...spent one night here and one evening meal travelling as a couple. The Trooper Inn is on a main road but not too noisy, beautiful countryside views and easily accessible for commuting. A very warm welcome was made upon arrival, whom later we found out was the owner, who is very hands on and has made The... More

My partner and I stayed here overnight whilst attending a family party nearby. As one of us was recovering from major surgery we were delighted by the quality of the disabled facilities, the comfortable beds and the general aura of cleanliness and good customer service. We feel very lucky to have found such a gem. The breakfast was very good,... More

My partner and I visited the area to go to a family function nearby. I was lucky to find this country Inn with the twin room we wanted - complete with full disability facilities !! The Stonor room had a lovely large walk-in wet room and the beds were very comfortble. There were no steps to go up at all.... More

I had the Chawton Room up in the eves with a spectacular view across the fields, a lovely bath ensuite with plenty of hot water. Lovely extras like biscuits in a little jar & tea & coffee as well as 2 apples. Very friendly staff and a lovely breakfast too, all in all a great stay and I'd love to... More

We booked at the Trooper as we were going to a wedding nearby in Froxfield. What a joy. We arrived for a prebooked lunch with the rest of our party and were given a lovely table by the Fire. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We had the most delicious light lunch and drinks. Our rooms... More

The Country and Coach Inns of England are a great way to see the countryside, enjoy the English culture and cast yourself back into days gone by, when the stables still existed and the ride was much rougher. The Trooper is one of those places and not far off the beaten track, it is an excellent place to hang your... More

I stayed in the Trooper Inn whilst on a biking (motor) tour of the South & East. There did not appear to be very much around, the place being the only habitation in sight; however I did not really go out and explore. My room was 'Oakshott' - a double booked for single occupancy. The room was quite small without... More
