A Tuscan Dream We spent August 29 through September 12, 2009 in the charming “Il Nido” apartment at “Le Casine di Castello” in the medieval village of Castelmuzio, Italy. Two weeks is definitely not enough time to fully enjoy this area of Tuscany. We had read many reviews before booking our visit and it’s rare to find everything exactly as... more

Just returned from a glorious week's stay at le Casine di Castello in Castelmuzio. We were 2 couples travelling together so the upstairs 2-bedroom apt, Il Cielo, was perfect for us. We met Isabella at La Cretaiole from where she led us to Castelmuzio and gave us her introduction to the area. We were given a list of all the... more

Our stay here was fabulous. Isabella met us in person upon our arrival and helped get us settled in to the apartment. The apartment was just as it was in the photographs. It was clean, well stocked with toiletries, a hairdryer, breakfast goodies, and a bottle each of the family's olive oil and house wine (both delicious). We loved the... more

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Tuscany. We stayed in the gorgeous village of Castelmuzio..............in their perfect Italian apartment not far from Cretaiole. We had a little balcony where we watched the villagers below living their simple lives. The silence was surreal....no sounds except the chiming of the church bell. Traffic was minimal.....The people were very friendly...and... more

If you want to get a glimpse of what life would be like if you could drop everything in your current life and buy a perfect little apartment in a charming little village in Tuscany, this is the place for you. We spent a week at Cretaiole before moving to this charming little village for a week. We were sad... more

My wife's and my first trip to Italy for 3 weeks. We stayed a week with Isabella and her family and it was the best week of the three. We actually stayed at their place in Castelmuzio, IL Nino (The Nest) as they referred to it. A great little apartment with nice sized kitchen/dining, bedroom and bathroom... with a private... more

We recently had 5 days in Il Cielo and it wasn't enough. Wooden shutters and antique lace frame delicious views of the Tuscan countryside. It was a treat to visit the little grocery store and point-and-smile my way to procuring that morning's bread, fresh ricotta, aged parmesan and ripe pears. We visited nearby farms, and brought fresh-laid eggs, arugula and... more

My husband and I have just returned from a stay at Il Nido, the garden apartment at Le Casine di Castello in the lovely hamlet of Castelmuzio. It was the best equipped self catering place we have ever stayed at - and we've stayed at quite a few! Everything you could possibly want had been thoughtfully provided by Isabella. If... more

Our family rented both upstair and downstair apartments for the week. Isabella, our hostess, worked hard to help schedule and coordinate many activities. The apartments were clean and authentic to the Val d'Orcia (the region of Tuscanny the town resides). The surrounding town is picture postcard perfect - even the parking lot in back of the town has commanding, idyllic... more

This was by far one of the best places that I have stayed. Le Casine di Castello is a small property that is comprised of 2 apartments. I spent 2 weeks in the smaller apartment, Il Nido. It is charmingly romantic and has absolutely everything that is needed for a wonderful stay. There is a beautiful bedroom with a comfortable... more
