My wife & I dropped into the Abbeyfield recently for Sunday lunch. The offering was carvery which looked reasonable. This was very excessive given the standard bowl of soup and main course. Needless to say we... more

My daughter and I recently stayed at this lovely modern hotel which only opened in 2008. It's situated on the R293 on the outskirts of Ballaghadereen, Co Roscommon. We arrived on the Thursday intending to just relax and de-stress which is exactly what we did. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and its overall layout is very pleasing and welcoming.... more

I booked to stay at the Abbeyfield Hotel as I was attending the reception of a christening there.Entering the hotel it seemed pleasant enough, it has a nice chandelier in the reception area.We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who were efficient. On entering the room (twin room) I was disappointed ,it wasn't prestigious, sophisticated or luxurious as the website promised.Instead... more

The leisure centre had just opened the previous week, which we made full use of. The breakfast each morning was very nice, the ususal cereals, fruit, yogurts and full irish. We had a meal in... more

On our first day of a short tour of Ireland, after travelling all day, we telephoned the Abbeyfield to book a room for the night. We chose this hotel for its pool and gym as we wanted to use these facilities to unwind. Unfortunately upon arrival, which was quite late in the day, we were told that although the hotel... more
