This little hotel is a jewel, right on the vast, beautiful and nearly deserted beach in Santa Catalina. The rooms were fine, it was quiet, the meals at the restaurant were very nice, the service was friendly, the wi fi worked well, and the grounds were lovely. I would not stay anywhere else in Santa Catalina .

What drew us to Santa Catalina? Surfing. Santa Catalina can boast one of the best surf breaks in Panama. But surfing is not the only draw. With scuba diving and Coiba National Park, a UNESCO Heritage Site, this quiet, laid back town fills up with tourists from all over the world. The best place to stay? Hotel Santa Catalina. The... Stayed here for 3 nights on a surfing and diving trip with a friend. Santa Catalina is a laid back little town where surfers,, divers and other foreigners mix with locals. Most of the lodging is of the "hostel" variety, which makes Hotel Santa Catalina the best place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable with good AC. The... More

We spent four nights at Hotel Santa Catalina. I contacted the hotel through email while traveling and Shenida responded quickly. Check in with her was quick and easy. Our room was clean and comfortable. There is a remote controlled AC unit which works very well and a small refrigerator which was nice for having water, etc. The bathroom was good... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in one of the rooms with a kitchenette. It is very clean and well air conditioned. They are building a pool and restaurant which will only make this place all the better. We don't surf but we enjoyed watching the surfers here. It's nice that they do not charge you to use their stand... More

Me and some friends were looking for nice and small hotel away from.the rush of the city, we researched and found this option. Ms. Shenida was super cool and nice making our reservation and was excellent as host during our stay, she made some reservations for dinner and a trip to Coiba Island. We spent 3 nights there and the... More

The hotel is perpetually improving. Soon there will be a spacious restaurant right there on the hillside overlooking not only the beach and surf but as well an infinity pool in that same location. The restaurant and the pool are about half done now. (Construction is going very fast now in that it's the dry season.) With cool ocean breezes... More

Relaxt atmosphere, nice and quiet location. They are building a new beautful waterfront restaurant, but this causes no inconvienence at all. Nice restaurants and tour operators are at walking distance or you can take a free bike to go into town. The rooms are nice and clean, good shower and we loved the hammocks. Very helpfull and friendly manager.

If you are a single, surfer dude, in your 20's and you are looking to throw back some cold ones with some of your bros...then this is the place for you. In fairness to the hotel, it was the best one in Santa Catalina. This town, however, is VERY remote...and not in a "good" way. The town has no grocery... More

Thank you for your review. While I agree with this customer in that Santa Catalina is somewhat remote, I would like to clarify that there are in fact 2 small grocery stores in the village, and there are several charming little restaurants in Santa Catalina that offer fantastic food, however, they are all rustic yet unique little places that are... Santa Catalina is worth the trip! The hotel was perfect for a family of 4. The staff was very helpful and kind! They have a room of surfboards, SUPs, boogie boards, and bikes available for guests to use. We will be back!
