Stayed here with my cousin and our families for two nights and it was pretty good! We stayed in the Casa del Mar, and it's a stand-alone house that can host up to 8 people. It has a kitchen, but only one bathroom and shower. As mentioned on their website it is a studio - there are two twin beds,... More

We loved our stay at Buena Vida. He rooms are stylish, comfortable and very clean. We felt like home from the very second. Very relaxing place. The restaurant served good food and staff was very friendly. Unfortunately wifi did not work during our stay. Be aware of the long walk to the surf spots! No taxi, bus available. Bikes only... More

Mike and Michelle are great at La Buena Vida. My friend and I stayed a week and had the house with a private bbq and porch out back. The place is huge! Outdoor shower is super inviting and the high ceilings just make it feel so open. Really enjoyed our own kitchen as well as the grill and blender. Smoothies... More

We stayed 3 nights with them. Michael and Michelle run the place and are connected to the very heartbeat of Santa Catalina. Anything you need (that can be had that far out) they can help. It's very comfortable and Michelle's tasteful, intricate and beautiful mosaic work and Michaels ornate metal work decorate the entire place. There are even vanilla vines... More

I highly recommend staying at La Buena Vida! Michelle and Mike are warm and welcoming and they have created a magical place. Not only are the villas beautiful and handcrafted, but the entire hotel is filled with love and happiness. They create a great community and provide exceptional service! The villas are comfortable and very clean. The restaurant has the... More

We stayed at Mike and Michele's place for three nights and in two different rooms which where both really nice decorated and spotless. They are both nice people and tried to help us out as much as they could, for the remaining activities we had in mind for our vacation. I can definitely recommend others to stay at La Buena... More

We just showed up, and were able to have a choice of one room 2 story house, or a room in the neighboring hostel, which is managed by the owners. We (2 women in our 50s) thought about negotiating the stairs for a bathroom at night, and opted for the hostel. Comfortable, decently equipped kitchen (I'm a foodie, and pretty... More

This is a small place in Santa Catalina, with several casitas on the property. We stayed in one with a gecko theme – mosaics (which are all over the property, and mostly the work of the owner), cut out windows, even a large gecko (4 feet) on the wall above the bed, whose eyes were the reading lights. The grounds... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2014

We stayed while on field work in the Montijo region, so three of us stayed for 3 nights, with one night at Coiba in the middle. Michelle and Mike were very accomodating and helpful; the restuarant serves great breakfasts at good value and the rooms are clean and comfortable. If travelling in a group certainly look into the villas.

we stayed here on the way to Isla Coiba and also upon our return. The staff was very helpful with storing gear we did not need on our dive trip on the island and were great with suggestions for meals. Accommodations were comfortable - and clean. Great shower that is open to the outdoors. Lovely porch with hammocks and chairs... More
