Arriving for a two night stay we were faced with diggers and heavy machinery as we entered the car park. There were piles of gravel everywhere and nowhere to park the car.Arriving at Reception to find no-one in sight.Room was not ready and the welcome was nonexistent. What a bad start to a hotel in such a lovely location.Once in our... More

This hotel needs a good clean!! Dirty cutlery, dirty floors, awful entrance ( as soon as you drive in too :-() Sticky floors, tables and litter on grounds. Not worth £75 a night. Shower reeked of sewerage, perhaps the septic tank needs emptying. On a positive note, it is a lovely setting and so much more potential plus some of... More

Service was outstanding, nothing was to much trouble. We had a large family Sunday meal and everyone was impressed by the food. We had children of different ages in our party, they all managed to find something they liked and portion sizes were more than adequate. Plenty of space for people to go outside if weather allows and very pleasant... More

We stayed here Friday evening of the last Bank holiday weekend in May to attend a friends 60th Birthday party. It was a very wet and cold night. Girl on reception equally cold! Our room in the annexe was also very cold and damp feeling so asked to have heaters turned on....this never happened.! As we were quite late in... More

Attended a wedding here on sat 19th July, Beautiful setting, place looks very presentable. On arrival was greeted by the 'manager' a rather pompous looking fellow, well when i say greeted it was more of grunt, not a good afternoon or any small talk, no staff to take umberellas or jackets was just told to put umberella in the corner! I heard the manager... More

Found this hotel by chance and just spent two fabulous days celebrating my 60th birthday, the only thing I can say is what a fantastic place. David and his team of staff are just so attentive and nothing is to much trouble for them, from the moment we arrived we were treated like we were royalty, the room we were... More

I waited 20 min at bar to be told it was now closed and to attend outside bar.. when i did they had no beer on draft and had to wait 15 mins for barrels.. the management were rude and sarcastic. The venue is great but staff change... More

Just spent two nights at 'The Limes', attending my niece's wedding. From the moment we walked in I knew this was going to go well. David, the owner, was friendly, courteous and very professional. The evening meal was extremely tasty and well cooked. The portions were generous and the service was very good. On the morning of the wedding Claire,... More

We attended a friends wedding on Friday 18th July, the organisation was fantastic, Claire the wedding coordinator was amazing and left nothing out. Shame she couldn't wear a lovely dress on the hottest day of the year! Well done Claire. The wedding breakfast was lovely good food and great service, the presentation of the food was fabulous and iv got... More

Attended a wedding there yesterday, aesthetically pleasing and the catering was great (BBQ). Yet beyond this deceiving beauty, came rude staff, more specifically the manager. Who didn't seem to care about the bride and groom and only himself, he refused to serve guests and was spiteful to the wedding photographers. He even attempted to charge the bride and groom for...
