A quick thanks to Karen and Eddie who hosted a wonderful "Italian Evening" last weekend with the supremely talented Kitia and Gian. We were only there for the evening but were made to feel like old friends and given a tour around their beautifully converted home. A wonderful experience shared with exceptional people, hope to return before too long.

Karen, Eddie, Ruth and the girls could not have done a better job for us!! The venue is fantastic, the scenery is to die for and the welcome and ambiance was more than we could ever have hoped for. Eddie does a great job behind (and in front) of the bar....I had someone to dance with!! Yeah...Thank you all so... More

Karen, Eddie and family create a most welcoming atmosphere. They are gracious, helpful and in tune with what might make your stay even better. Our 3 day stay was filled with special touches. When we came in the door, we were immediately greeted by hugs, smiles, and welcomes. It was as if we were being welcomed back as long gone family. I immediately felt at home. The next thing that struck me was the incredible view. It took my breath away. Add to that the sumptuous meals, plentiful opportunities for adventure or relaxation,... More

I stayed here with a group of fellow travelers recently and found this to be one of my favorite places. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful and Eddie and Karen and their wonderful daughters were a delight. The whole family not only made us feel welcomed but made us feel like family. Karen spoiled us with wonderful meals (she is... More

Ballaghboy Lodge was the perfect place for my group of pilgrims to integrate the various sacred sites we had visited. Karen and John tended to us with great comfort and joy, as did their two sweet daughters. We were made to feel very welcome and at home. The food was delicious, and Karen went beyond the call of duty to... More

My two children, 12, and 15, and I LOVED this place. Beautiful, great view, relaxing, Irish countryside. Fabulous hosts, great food (get a tart!), and fun times. My kids wanted to stay longer so we shortened our trip to Dublin and stayed two extra days. . . . animals, horseback riding, exploring with John, visiting a local pub with live... More

I really cant say enough about how incredible Ballaghboy Lodge is. The family that runs it are treasures. The lodge has been updated and is beautiful. The meals that Karen cooks were gourmet. I am gluten free and she completely spoiled me. I wish now that we had a day off from our tour, just to spend relaxing at Ballaghboy... More

Ballaghboyfarm is not your typical B&B. Located somewhere in Co. Roscommon, or maybe just over the line on the edge of Co. Sligo near Ballinafad, it could be in the back of beyond just so it would remain a secret hideaway. So yes, I'm hesitant to share the discovery, but as it is an authentic adventure beyond the reach of... More
