We stayed for 1 night whilst travelling in the area. On arrival staff were pleasant and friendly. We had to make our own beds on arrival as quilt covers were given to us at that time, we arrived at about 6pm. We went to a local pub pub called The Crown for a meal where the food food was excellent,... More

Stayed for 3 days over the New Year break with my 2 kids and 9 other families. Our room was clean, warm and comfortable with an en-suite shower room. The shared cooking, eating and living areas were big enough for all of us and Amanda and Glyn were very welcoming and helped make a fantastic stay. The main attraction for... More

We had sole use of the hostel over New Year's as a group of 10 families. Amanda was welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The bedrooms were clean, warm and comfortable. Facilities were great, particularly the outside play areas (including 2 play barns) and farm animals - goats, pigs, ponies, rabbits and many more.... Just returned from a 3-day new year break at Cholderton YHA. Had a fantastic time, not least because the facilities for children were outstanding! There are two play-barns, with a fantastic soft-play area as well as two bouncy castles! Outside of those, the hostel adjoins a wonderful rare breeds farm, with dozens of animals for the children to meet and... More

We stayed here with friends and family, for the new year period. It was absolutely fantastic. There is an indoor soft play area, bouncy castles, a farm for the little ones and an onsite café. The staff are helpful and made us feel very welcome. The hostel is clean and well maintained and is only ten minutes from Stonehenge too.... More

Spent new years at this hostel with a group of friends. Only had one member of staff onsite as closed to general public. From the start she made us feel completely at home and even got up new years day and opened the childrens playing area first thing. Also allowed us use of their kitchen which was a bonus. Thanks... We stayed over new year and took over the whole hostel. It had everything we needed and lots for the kids to do outside. The staff were helpful but relaxed and were comfortable letting us get on with it. It was an ideal group retreat for families to enjoy a new year together.

This youth hostel is very new, well decorated, good kitchen but it felt very soulless. There was one other family and two young men staying so it seemed very empty for half term. The reception wasn't staffed and there was no indication how you contacted the warden. Although the living area was comfortable it would be very small if the... More

We are relatively new to youth hostelling but have had some great weekend breaks with friends in some fabulous Derbyshire hostels so we thought we'd give Cholderton a go on our way down to Devon holiday - perfect location for Stonehenge which we visited. Unfortunately, we were not impressed. We were greeted on arrival by a lovel young French student... More

Beautiful place to be and to spend some quiet time! I enjoyed the private room in the attic and I was happy to find this little hidden place. It is very picturesque. The staff is friendly and helpful (the reception stayed open longer as my arrival was delayed).
