I went for lunch here and I have to say it really was awful. The orders were taken incorrectly so some people went without food. Other orders were processed incorrectly by the kitchen so the children ended up with a delay in their food. I ordered a jacket potato because they don't have a great track record and I figured... Visited the Old Mill with work colleagues on Wednesday evening so we could sit in the late evening sunshine and enjoyed a simple but tasty Ham, Egg & Chips with a couple of glasses of wine. The location is lovely so we returned on Sunday to partake in the recommended Sunday Lunch & we weren't disappointed. Again we managed to... More

Reading some of the reviews I wonder if we were all talking about the same place! I went here on a a Thursday evening and didn't expect a busy restaurant but we were not on our own and had a lovely meal in delightful surroundings. As others have described hotel/restaurant is set in an idyllic setting just 15 minute walk... More

Most excellent ploughman's lunch - good stilton served at room temperature, fresh bread and plenty of it, tasty onion chutney and fresh fruit. Good value and delicious! We walked across the watermeadows from Salisbury but did not stay the night.

Exceeded our expectations, wonderful hotel in a loverly setting. staff very friendly and helpful. very old building and as you would expect with a bvuilding like this you can hear creaky floor boards and people walking the vcorridors but it all adds to the charm of this hotel. They have a good well stocked bar with chairs and tables outside... More

Hotel has the wow factor as you drive in...and it doesnt stop there. Ok, its not 5 star, but it is comfortable, friendly, good homely food and a very laid back atmosphere. We intend to stay longer next time...perfect place to unwind.

It may have just three stars - thanks to basic, but perfectly acceptable, facilities in the rooms - but this place is a gem! Built in or around 1500 as a flour mill, then becoming a fulling mill, and finally an inn, the Tudor brick and flint on the outside is matched inside by medieval stone, brick and beams, with... More

Food was ok I guess but have had a lot better, the young bartender was lovely and about the only comforting thing in the place. one of the bartenders was drinking wine while working and he seemed to be drunk would not recommend to anyone didn't... we stopped at the old mill for three nights on our way home from Wales on a bed and breakfast tariff. Undoubtedly this hotel is set in a great location in the water meadows behind the cathedral and within easy walking distance of the town. Breakfast was the typical choice of cereal, juices and full English Our first breakfast was... More
