Very nice lodge if you are visiting the Abel Tasman area. It is quite remote and there are not many dining options close by but Paulette and Bert provide very helpful advice to navigate dining and sight seeing in the area. The hosts also serve a nice breakfast. The rooms are a bit quirky and not as functional as I... More

We had 3 nights at Split Apple Lodge over Easter. The lodge itself is in a physically amazing location on the top of a ridge with great sea views on one side and mountain views on the other. The lodge has a lovely big lounge with TV and good selection of DVDs. Another set of couches in the sun. The... More

Split Apple Lodge is a modern property located on a hilltop with views of the mountains and sea. The common lounge and kitchen is very spacious and comfortable. There are limited dinner options nearby, but a full kitchen and full-sized refrigerator is available for guests who want to bring in some food. The provided breakfasts were very good with a... More

We stayed here a couple nights while on our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place is huge and has a wonderful view. Bert and Paulette were great hosts and we felt right at home. It's a bit hard to find but other then that, no complaints. Thanks so much! Hope to come back again!

Not as cozy as a typical B&B, but amazing view and lots of space to hang around. Bert and Paulette were most gracious and very informative. Wonderful breakfast with all the other guests. This was one of our favorite stays during our New Zealand vacation. The Lodge blends in so beautifully with the gorgeous surroundings. We hated to leave this... More

The Abel Tasman National Park is so incredibly beautiful and the Split Apple Lodge is the perfect place to stay while exploring the park. Bert and Pauline are wonderful hosts, giving good recommendations on kayak hires, water taxi trips, hikes, and local restaurants. The ubiquitous New Zealand B&B breakfast of yoghurt, cereal, fruit, and bread is kicked up a notch... More

Amazing place! Amazing people! What a nice stay we had there. We stayed 2 nights there for Christmas during our honey moon. Our hosts, Paulette and Bert have been so nice with us. On the top of kind attention and a very nice welcome, they also prepared a great authentic kiwi BBQ. No actual kiwi on the menu, fortunately... :)... More

A little tricky to get to, but a lovely site with the ocean in one direction and the mountains to other from this mountain top lodge. Delightful hosts. Margaret Hosts Paulette and Bert were very pleasant and helped us to arrange a kayak trip in Able Tasman Park. The accomodations were very nice. Breakfast was continental. Jim

This lodge has a lovely location, situated half way between Kaiteriteri and Marahau with stunning views all around. It has been well thought out and has everything you need, a large lounge area with TV (& DVD's ), a telescope & a wood burner stove and a huge well equipped kitchen area with a great coffee machine. The bedrooms have... More
