A wonderfully situated hotel with trees growing through it in the heart of a forest. Large, airy and well appointed rooms with good air conditioning and 2 double beds. Stunning outlook. Try and get a room away from the bar as the music can go on late and is loud! Restaurant is poor with little decent choice of food -... More

Wonderfully situated hotel with well appointed rooms with views (especially when in the bath/shower!). Pity about the weather but then you can expect rain in a rain forest but the bar though small was excellent with a good band. Despite the weather (and the indifferent breakfast) we really enjoyed our stay - perhaps we inhabit a parallel universe to some... More

Nice place to put your feet up and relax after tiring your legs doing walking tours of old Havana. Set on a reforested hillside, it commands scenic views from its many airy verandas and balconies. Bills itself as an "ecological" hotel - but apart from the sole tree that was spared during construction and now shoots up inside the property... More

The hotel must have looked great 15 years ago, today it's old and not worth it. The restaurant is the most expensive and worst one we've experienced in Cuba. They can't even prepare a proper daiquiri at the bar... makes you feel you're not in Cuba.

I am really surprised after reading all the excellent reviews about Hotel Moka! The hotel is so awful that I can't help but being suspicious about these reviews. I don't know from where to start, so I will try to be positive and start from the good points. The forest around the hotel and the little lakes at the entrance... More

Simple yet very stylish hotel, clean and in a beautiful setting. We have enjoyed our stay very much and have done lots of activities like horse riding in the hills, zip wire over the woods and the lake as well as had a great 4km walk to San Juan Baths where we've had a swim in natural pools under small... The place is breathtakingly beautiful. You feel like you are privileged to admire nature’s best features: the trees, the mountains. The air is so pure that you feel instantly better. The only thing is that it was extremely cold (it was mid-December), but maybe some people won’t mind the cold weather. The coffee is good and the breakfast was plentiful.... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Moka even though our room was somewhat worn and quite musty. A dehumidifier was running in the room. No doubt, a product of older and poorly maintained buildings and heavy rainfall. Come prepared with appropriate remedies ....just in case you are allocated one of the rooms not renovated. The room was large, clean... More

The best thing about this hotel was the small intimate bar which was buzzy and busy and nightly bands play salsa and encourage the guests to join in! Rooms were very good too - we had a 'loo with a view'. Colonial style would describe it best. The food was a disappointment. However this is Cuba and food is generally... More

It was with some apprehension that my wife and I stayed for two nights at La Moka, as we had been spooked by some of the reviews of previous guests. The reality was that we enjoyed our stay in this hillside retreat with its Spanish-inspired architecture pierced by numerous trees, the largest of which takes centre stage in the lobby.... More
