In tranquil suburban surroundings this dinky brick-built "castle" with a modern core - and a moat with swans, would be equally at home in a toybox. Our Deluxe room, in the fourth floor Mansard roof was sober, well fitted and comfortable with small windows and a fan if it got too warm. A convenient sit-down mirror would be nice. Reception... Had to be based in the south of Netherlands for business and so glad we found this hotel. It it one of those hotels where you need to take time out to just absorb the surroundings. The Chateau has been extremely well renovated and the guest areas very well designed and laid out. The rooms were of a good quality... More

This is a beautiful and peaceful hotel which has made the most of its history. The buildings and grounds are lovely and the food is of a very high standard indeed. We chose the location as we were visiting Floriade and were not disappointed in any way. The only slight complaints I have would be that I had to pay... More

We booked this hotel because it was close to The Floriade and were very pleased. Our room was a corner room overlooking the beautiful grounds with swans swimming in the waterway. The first night we were tired from travelling all day so stayed at the hotel for dinner. We found the dinner menu limited and did not have dinner there... More

I stayed here as a home base to visit the Floriade also. We found the rooms to be comfortable, if a bit small. The service was good, the breakfast plentiful and varied, and the dinner menu was good enough so that we chose to stay in all three nights. I would comment additionally that the dinner was very fairly priced,... More

Used the hotel a couple of times for diner and meetings and it is truly a great place to be. The ambiance is very relaxed and the architecture is stunning where they have 'melted' the original castle with new added elements. The restaurant is in what used to be the (big) kitchen. Service is great and the location is also... More

Nice hotel with super room (we had a castle room)...super friendly staff...in the evening we had twice an excellent 4/5 course menu with adapted wines. (we booked a forfait - price quality a super deal) Two little minuses: hotel was also catering for a wedding party..so quit noisy and the breakfast was bit disappointing for this type of hotel.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

I found the exterior of the hotel quite jarring - half old romantic castle, half concrete and steel box. Once inside the decor is very pleasant, service was very good. The room was great, comfortable bed, nice view of the lake, fairly spacious. The restaurant was adequate, nothing memorable about the food either in a good or bad way. They... More

The ground of the chateau with its tower entrance, long driveway, canal, beautiful lake, and the chateau surrounded by water-moat with ducks and swans on the water gives it a fairy-tale charm, while the interior of the chateau has been modernised without losing its historical characteristics. The room we had on the top level at the front annex of the... More
