A group of 14 (age 20-40) of us stayed at the Parkhotel. The hotel was clean and tidy but some of the rooms need a bit of modernisation (80's wallpaper!). One of our group was lucky enough to have a newly re-furbished room and the receptionist told us that the rest of the rooms were being done over the next few years.

The breakfast buffet was typically Swiss, i.e. Meat, Cheese, Cereal and Bread, but there was plenty of it and the fresh fruit salad was nice.

The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but does do half board. We stayed B&B and went to restaurants in other hotels nearby or into Interlaken.

The best thing about the Park Hotel and Bönigen is that there you get all the benefits of being near Interlaken, but you get the peace, tranquility and stunning views over Lake Brienz.

The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. The room rates were good value. more
