I stayed here on a business trip recently and chose it because of the convenient location. I was not overly impressed with the reception staff whom I had to actually find when I checked in at 5pm. I rang the doorbell on the desk several times and eventually found the staff member in the restaurant. She then kept going on... More

I had been staying at local Premier Inns within the Basildon area and for a change I thought I would try The Chichester. I was a late checkin so I arrived in the dark. It was not too clear as to where I was to be headed but the friendly night Porter peering throu the window gave me a good... More

I Stayed For 1 Night In June 2014. What A Wonderful Hotel. From The Time I Arrived All Staff Were Excellent. They Made Me Feel Very Welcome. My Room Was On The Ground Floor Around A Courtyard. A Nice Setting. The Room Was Clean And Comfortable With Tea And Coffee Facilities. The Breakfast Was A Treat To Behold With So... More

Booked a weekend here for my husband and myself. We were attending a dinner and disco function at the hotel. Our room was on the first floor and was a little dated, but clean and average in size. The bed was comfortable, additional pillows available, towels could have been softer. Excellent car parking facilities, nice quiet surroundings. The court yard,... More

I have stayed here three times in the last two months and on every occasion the staff were very friendly, the rooms spacious and the beds comfortable. It is in a quiet location and the central courtyard with all the foliage and bird song is a delight. The food is average. The location is excellent for that part of Essex

Yes, excellent hotel; other reviews are pretty accurate. Only downside, the lady on reception wasn't as welcoming as she could have been! Interesting layout; stairs divide every pair of rooms- meaning that you're 50% less likely to hear next door's telly at full blast- funny no-one else seems to have noticed this unusual but brilliant advantage. Rooms surround a central... More

We have stayed at this hotel a few times while on route to various destinations to break up our journey. Lovely staff who are welcoming, friendly and efficient. Evening meal and breakfast is good. The hotel and rooms are a little dated but we think this adds to it's 'quaintness'! Rooms are a good size and beds comfortable with usual... More

We booked to stay here as it was conveniently close to a family gathering. The photos on the website didn't really inspire us and when we arrived the car park was almost empty! Now I am a real fan of hotels with free parking but so much? We were welcomed by very friendly staff and were directed to a lovely... More

We booked the hotel for an overnight stay whilst visiting friends nearby. All the staff were friendly and helpful both on reception and in the restaurant. Our room was a good size with tea/coffee making facilities. The decor is very tasteful and the whole hotel is well maintained and very clean with a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was most enjoyable served... More

Never really got excited by the photos of Chichester Hotel, but now on my 3rd stay here and it's a fabulous hotel. Down to the details: a.) I love hotels with a consistent style; So far, all the rooms I've been allocated are same size, same quality, same attention to detail. Very suitable for business visits: a good size bed,... More
