Stayed at the hotel because my sons wedding was being held here. On arrival we found out we could check in straight away at 12:30. We were allocated room 211. It was a nice sized room. Nicely decorated and clean. It had usual tea & coffee making facilities and an iron & board etc. We didn't use all the facility's... More

We stayed two nights at the Chichester a Saturday and Sunday. It is a little by passed but easier to find than the maps indicate. A 1970's type motel very substantially built with good sized rooms - bit like a university college of the same period - around a central and pleasant patio area for seating, eating and drinking. Rooms... More

We use to live close to this area, and went back to visit friends, and we had been to a few parties their so we thought we would book in for the evening, I think it was not so bad, staff were very friendly, breakfast was ok, so overall it was ok, better than average, but the rating says very... Given that this is priced around the same as a Premier Inn (and on the same basis - price for room plus extra for breakfast) my rating is based on comparison with Premier Inn standards. We stayed for one night - booked online (slightly cheaper) which was efficient and easy. Reception staff were pleasant. We did not have to pay... More

Mixed reviews. Stayed here as family birthday celebrations were in the Tudor Lounge which made it very convenient. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room, good size but definitely a budget hotel. Bed comfortable but the linen was musky. Room too hot, windows could be opened but very noisy from local main road. TV ok with top box channels for Sunday... More

Clean, spacious, great location for me. Breakfast is great, wasn't as thrilled with Dinner but to be fair, there was nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't blowing me away in terms of choice or finesse. All the staff are lovely and helpful. I've stopped at the Chichester a few times and I'll definitely be back!

I stayed here on a business trip recently and chose it because of the convenient location. I was not overly impressed with the reception staff whom I had to actually find when I checked in at 5pm. I rang the doorbell on the desk several times and eventually found the staff member in the restaurant. She then kept going on... More

I had been staying at local Premier Inns within the Basildon area and for a change I thought I would try The Chichester. I was a late checkin so I arrived in the dark. It was not too clear as to where I was to be headed but the friendly night Porter peering throu the window gave me a good... More

I Stayed For 1 Night In June 2014. What A Wonderful Hotel. From The Time I Arrived All Staff Were Excellent. They Made Me Feel Very Welcome. My Room Was On The Ground Floor Around A Courtyard. A Nice Setting. The Room Was Clean And Comfortable With Tea And Coffee Facilities. The Breakfast Was A Treat To Behold With So... More

Booked a weekend here for my husband and myself. We were attending a dinner and disco function at the hotel. Our room was on the first floor and was a little dated, but clean and average in size. The bed was comfortable, additional pillows available, towels could have been softer. Excellent car parking facilities, nice quiet surroundings. The court yard,... More
