Lovely Quirky and charming hotel with great bedrooms(stayed in Room 12) and Great atmosphere in the bar with lovely beers & wines, especially near the open peat fires. Food in the restaurant is rustic, plentiful and of excellent standard for pub food. Would definitely return

We stayed in room 20, lovely balcony and fantastic 4 poster! Tea and coffee brought to room on silver tray, it was like being in Downton Abbey! Had lovely bar meal on the Sunday night and the breakfast in the restaurant was one of the best breakfasts we have had in a hotel in years, fabulous views as well. A... More

This hotel is truly special. The service and food was excellent. Could not fault anything. Coffee on tap when ever we wanted a brew ( no in room coffee making facilities). Our two westies were spoilt with recommended local walks and plenty of doggy towels. Room stunning with old fashioned bed, sofa , open fire and big flat screen tv.... More

'Quirky' when applied to hotels isn't easy to bring off. Near-misses are often better described as bizarre, and outright failures downright shabby. The Inn however, nails the genre. Details delight the eye in unexpected places, with understated quality quietly pulsing through the whole place. My room overlooked the River Hodder and unspoiled countryside. The bed is naturally a canopied four poster. The bath,a giant... More

This setting is pure English countryside at its best. In the middle of nowhere this place is popular- we couldn't get booked in the restaurant in the evening do opted for lunch. Starters were pretty expensive but mains reasonable. House white very nice & fair price. Food very good tho if I'm being picky I've had better black pudding. Duckling... More

We booked the Inn at Whitewell mainly as it appeared on The Trip (a journey being slowly mirrored over the last 2-3 years*) for a short weekend stay to relax/recharge. It lived up to all expectations in terms of location, rooms, food and service. Room 5 had stunning views over the river valley and the added bonus of an open... More

have just had some of the best food to have passed my lips in ages. Chicken so tender it was delicious, even my husband who thinks chicken is boring was raving about it. And the sticky toffee pudding.... Wow.... Light, moist with a sauce to Write home about !

Roaring fires, a mixture of country house meets shabby chic! The staff are friendly and offer great service. The bedrooms are beautiful, particularly in the older section of the hotel. A family run hotel with an excellent wine menu and fabulous fresh quality food. Perfect to eat there on a sunny afternoon enjoying the views, or dinner bed and breakfast.... More
