My husband treated me to a birthday lunch and it was excellent as usual. The food ,the service and the ambience were all brilliant. We have been many times before and were tempted to have a change,so glad we went back to the Inn, it was perfection. Many thanks to my husband and the staff for making my birthday so... More

Booked the last available. Room for a treat after our Christmas break in the Lakes. Arrived lunchtime Sunday and the place was packed with families, walkers and their dogs. The place has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff were efficient. And eager to please. The room was very comfortable.Fresh coffee brought to your room on request. The evening meal in the... More

Thank you for your kind review, so pleased you enjoyed your time with us. The essential mix for a country inn is: 1 part dog, 1 part kids a splash of glamour and some good food and good wine, leave to meld, delicious! Thank you again. Regards Cb More

My wife and I, together with our 19 month old returned to this fantastic hotel on our honeymoon. The reception as always was extremely friendly. Nothing was too much trouble from providing a travel cot to lighting fires, warming toddler food or providing a bottle of milk. The views are incredible looking up valley and room 6 was provided with... More

Thank you for your very kind review. So pleased to hear you had a happy time with us and wonderful that you brought your baby. That's what I think is special about a proper inn, a good mix of kids, dogs, suits, boots, old and young, perfect. Thank you again. Regards Cb More

We stayed here between Christmas and New Year. The hotel is in a beautiful location, roaring logs fires and a warm welcome. The room was very cosy and the roll top bath was a delight after a long day walking. We ate in the bar because we had our dog with us, the food and service was superb. We will... More

My husband & I spent a night at the Inn whilst visiting family for the holidays. The setting is stunning, the Inn cozy & charming and bar very inviting. We stayed in room 4 which had a four poster bed and spacious ensuite bathroom. As much as the room was charming I can only give it a "good" rating as... More

Thank you for your kind review. I quite understand your comments about the bedroom, it's difficult in this very old building to sound proof enough but we'll try. Thank you again Regards Cb More

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here when attending a wedding at the church next door. The Inn, set on the side of a babbling river, was both charming and welcoming. The room was well equipped with all amenities and also a four poster bed in keeping with the ambience of the Inn. The lunchtime menu had... More

Thank you for your kind review, we are blessed with the most fantastic scenery here but so many people from in and out of the county have a totally different perception of what Lancashire looks like. That Lowry has a lot to answer for! Regards Cb More

I have stayed here nowhere near often enough and I get properly excited every January when the letter arrives suggesting we might like to return. The Inn is truly special, has captured exactly the things that are really important to a spoiling experience and needs to maintain its focus on dog loving country folk who will probably not be "gnocchi"... Huge review thank you so much. Glad you enjoy coming to see us in the valley. It's slightly odd that there aren't very many places left where you can take the dog for a walk and have a good glass of wine and a fish pie after. Thank you again. Regards Cb More

After another quick break at the Inn I can't express how much we love the service, food and comfort here. In the first instance my favourite room was only available for one of our night,no problem! We will relocate your bags to another room for our next night, how about that for superb customer service! And suggested which room to... More

We stayed at the Inn at Whitewell on New Year's Day and really recommend it as a place to kick back and relax. After going for a long walk in the pouring rain, we spent the rest of the afternoon sitting by the fire and drying out. Our room (6) was very homely, with a bathroom, bedroom and lounge with... I've never stayed in the rooms here, but I always make a bee line for the Inn at Whitewell when I'm in the North of England. The views here are truly spectacular and it's a beautiful drive to get here. Full to the brim with the well heeled country set, this historic Inn is full of charm. The staff are... More
