This was a 'pushing-the-boat-out' trip for a special birthday, and the Lodge did not disappoint. AndBeyond (formerly CC Africa) are consistently excellent. The attention to detail and quality of service was fantastic. We had a great ranger, Fillon, who gave us some amazing experiences, from the tranquility of wildlife watching to the buzz of quad biking on the sand dunes.... more

We stayed in four stunning locations during our trip but accommodation, staff and setting at the Sossusvlei Desert Lodge were the very best we experienced - and the competition was tough. Tucked behind the mountain peaks the 10 rooms overlook a plain to the hills and sand dunes in the distance. The rooms are modern and very comfortable with massive... more

Sossusvlei Desert Lodge (the new name of the Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge) was the first of the four lodges we stayed at and definitely got us off to a good start. The trip from the airstrip to the lodge is quick and we were welcomed by Paulo the manager. There are 10 villas in total, 5 on each side of the... more

My husband and I recently enjoyed our honeymoon at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge (formerly Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge), - and definately found a "diamond in the desert" - what a magical place! The scenery is breathtaking, seeing the red dunes in the distance and enjoying the sweet smelling grass around the lodge swaying in the welcome breeze during those hot days. We... more

We were a party of 10 using 5 rooms, one of which was a family room This commentary is a consensus view of the whole party. We stayed there 3 days. We had consistently amazing service. The food was outstanding - we never had a meal in the same place! There are 10 invididual chalets each with 100% privacy and... more

My husband and myself initially booked for 3 nights as we planned to continue our itinerary further south. We loved the place so much that we canceled the end of our trip in the south in order to extend our stay in that lodge. There are 11 chalets offering great facilities and privacy. Their architecture is respectful of the environment... more

On the strength of the many reviews, we decided to stay for four nights rather than the standard two night package. Like everyone, we needed a rest from hectic lives and we flew in on a private charter (surprisingly expensive) to the desert lodge. Soon we were introduced to our "private ranger" and our "private butler". The private status probably... more

The rooms are wonderful half tent and half building with views of the Namib. The food was varied and tasty: much is cooked to order. Berhardt was the best guide --he is a treasure. I would have loved to stayed more than three nights. more
