This site is all lies....the photos are totally retouched...The Iris person tries to get students to leave and keeps your money,...She treats students rudely...There is no garden except tomatos behind the weeds. the house is grey concrete not pink. She is one of the worst persons to ever meet...BEWARE and guard your money!!!

the owner, tjasa iris, was rude, unhelpful, and unavailable. i was supposed to stay for a month as an artist in residence, but after only 4 days, i left, due to the fact that there were literally scorpions in the studio (also no electricity/lights), which she laughed off, the food was awful and very limited, and the bedroom was right... Villa Flora is a magical hideaway. Lovingly restored by its owner, Tjasa Iris, it exudes an old world charm, while providing every possible comfort. The rooms are tastefully furnished with period pieces and decorated with Tjasa's fabulous artwork. I spent a week at Villa Flora painting with Tjasa, in the garden most days and in the studio on a couple... More

I didn't know what to expect in Slovenia. I didn't even know where it was, much less what it was like. I enrolled in my fifth painting workshop with Tjasa partly to see what her home country was like. Slovenia is an undiscovered treasure. Villa Flora is extremely old. Tjasa is painstakingly restoring the property between her workshops and own... More

Stayed at VillaFlora 5 nights in July, 2008. It was wonderful. It has lovely rooms, spacious bathrooms and excellent breakfasts with the best morning coffee lattes!!!!! It is conveniently located near the Italian border and an easy drive from Trieste Airport, or 1.5 hours from Venice. The village of Branik is quiet and lovely, not littered with tourists, and is... Old atmospheres. Far away from globalized world. Tjasa Iris the owner is a painter and has enormous knoweledge of, and respect for local arts and traditional Slovenian culture. Excellent beakfasts. We travelled in Slovenia for two weeks before coming to Villa Flora and definately Villa Flora had the best breakfasts. We miss them so much! Rooms are lovely. Our bed... More

Duplicity is the word for this bed and breakfast and owner. Starting with the presentaion on the web.....all very deceiving. The house is not pink and the shutters are not blue. Faded white. It is not alone in the countryside. Side by side with four or 5 homes and also more 2 story housed across a narrow 2 lane road.... More

Sorry it has taken so long to recommend the Villa Flora! It's a lovely place, and the innkeeper is a wealth of information. She personally took us up to the castle, served wonderful breakfasts, made dinner reservations, and sent us to fabulous wineries. Excellent 4 days!
