This Parador is located adjacent Guadalupe monastery and cathedral. The Parador offered during Christmas 2014 half board for a moderate price. Although the room was a little bit dark, so was everything clean and comfortable. But the service in the restaurant was very poor. We were two people who were the very first guests in the evening and we were... More

Guadalupe is just extraordinary. Certainly a bit remote, but one of the most beautiful places in Spain overall. And the Parador is certainly worth a visit in its own right. Set in a XVI century palace, the property has been transformed into a marvelous hotel. Rooms are generally quiet and pleasant, though falling short of utterly luxurious. But what they... More

This parador is one of the better ones we have stayed in. For a reasonable surcharge we were offered an annex room with views over the monastery complex, which was worth while, if somewhat distant from the main hotel. The staff were friendly, the room clean and well equipped. The hotel is across the road from the monastery complex, so... More

Great location and environment, but poor maintenance of the rooms. The staff is friendly and the food is quite good (I went for a wedding and I can't complaint). Cleaning in the rooms could be improved massively!

Staying in a relatively remote small village in the rolling hills of Extremadura, the expectation of gracious accommodation and fine dining has to be tempered. However, for a one or two night stay, the Parador Guadalupe provides a reasonably pleasant experience. To be honest, this was my second stay here, so something about the place must be right. Perhaps it’s... More

I booked this hotel through Booking.com as from experience I know the Paradors are of good standard and often they are one of the best hotels in their areas. when arriving to the hotel, there was a great parking Place space inside the hotel yard - otherwise you would have had a problem with the parking in the old town... During this trip, we stayed only at Paradors and again Parador de Guadalupe maintain the same outstanding standard, decoration, furnishing etc. really give you a feel of staying in an place with history and culture. The Parador dining based on local dishes from local produce have not disappointed us.

My wife and I stopped here overnight en route to Cadiz. What an excellent decision. Although the road was a little windy getting there, it was certainly worth it! A delightful building with cool orange-laden patios and gardens. Lovely room with balcony looking across the stunning Monastery. Nice swimming pool and well-laid out gardens. Dinner a joy in the terrace... More

After longer stays in 1988 and 1996 we stayed again mid of June 2014 for 9 nights at this nice place, first two nights in the historical part of the complexe. This is a very well-preserved, historic parador in a beautiful location. Our large suite #209 had a balcony in the newer building overlooking the older section of the parador and the monastery beyond. Our suite was quite large and comfortable, however, being quite a distance away from the main areas proved a navigation challenge the first couple of tries. The... More
