Modern well appointed hotel on the Belgium/France border. In fact driving 100m will put you in France or simply cross the road! Family owned, welcoming and kept exceptionally clean. The room was spacious with an outside balcony giving a panoramic view of the Belgian countryside. TV choice equally good, not just BBC world but BBC 1. Breakfast was excellent particularly... More

This is a very nice hotel, the owners have spent a lot of money in decorating and furnishing it to a high standard. The room we had (family room, room 8) was very nice, a good size for the four of us, comfortable beds, well equipped bath room and plenty of space to hang clothes. It was very quiet and... More

We were returning from a long tour across Germany and chose this hotel as it was an easy distance from the motorway and left us just a hours journey to the Tunnel. We arrived a couple of hours earlier than expected as the weather was bad and we hadn't fancied stopping on the way. The owners were very accommodating and... More

This lovely family run hotel was a real surprise find. We wanted a hotel to finish our three week motorbike holiday, on the way to the ferry , with secure parking for our motorbikes. We arrived very early as rain was threatened for the afternoon. We were greeted by the owner and shown to a spot by the front door... More

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Callecanes for 4 nights in early September. This is a beautiful family run hotel in a good location for visiting the Flanders area... Ypres, Poperinge etc. Also Brugge is only 1 hours drive away. The hotel is modern, beautifully decorated/appointed and spotlessly clean. The food is beautifully cooked and well presented. The... Arrived at the hotel looking forward to a great stay on our last night . Hotel decor lovely and welcome was good . When we went for dinner things started to go wrong . We sat waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes to be seated. Our bottle of wine was served on arrival so by the time we sat... More

First day back from our stay and missing the extensive buffet breakfast, cereals, cheese, meats, breads, patisserie and jams were just my favourites! The rooms were modern and clean with bath and shower which is rare in most hotels these days. Our room was situated close to the sun terrace with Very comfortable furniture. Our hosts were very helpful and... More

This is a lovely hotel, relatively recently extended to a good specification. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout and has some nice touches like a lovely pool and a sun terrace. The buffet breakfast was good with a few local touches on the buffet like Sirop de Liege. Very tasty breads and pain d'epices. The extension of the hotel makes... More

When you drive you think that the location could be better as it is right on the old border crossing where there is a small lorry parking area. Once in the hotel it all changes, a warm welcome with a cocktail from the host. The hotel is modern, well appointed and spotless. We had a room overlooking the fields with... More

You can always tell a hotel that is run by the owners. There is just that little bit of extra effort involved. I have to say, we discovered the hotel by chance, as my daughter and I had (another) trip to Plopsaland arranged and she said she would like to stay in a hotel with a pool. A look through... More
