This Rustic Hotel in the middle of the Madonie Mountains is charming. With great service and wonderful Sicilian mountain food. The reception area is very ornate built around an ancient spring. we had a hearty meal at lunchtime and because we were there on a Sunday we were treated to their speciality Pizza's in the evening. a great place to... I cannot add much to the good things that have been said by others about this hotel, but perhaps some further emphasis will be helpful. Petralia Sottana is a remote village and its core remains largely unchanged since medieval times. Il Castello is well situated to let its guests drink in the ambience. An early evening walk in good weather... More

I found this place several years ago, before it was open, and had a chat with the lovely lady who was working on the renovation. This was her family home, and the renovation has clearly been a good investment and a success. Both the hotel and the restaurant are popular with Italians, which is a good sign, and the restaurant... This is a small hotel in the centre of the town/village. We were made most welcome and ate in the adjoining pizzeria/restarant. The food is good but exceptionally busy on Saturday evenings, so book on arrival. Slightly difficult to find in a car, so park up and walk. Good value for money. Room was large with good en suite but... More

This guesthouse is well signposted as you drive through the barrow streets if Petralia Sottano. When we arrived we called the number listed on the door (note: the reception desk is not manned) and somebody arrived to check us in within 5 minutes. We were immediately impressed with the room as it was traditional & spacious enough. Spotlessly clean &... More

This is a beautiful hotel. The accompanying restaurant is unforgettable, especially if you arrive for the weekend pizza spectacular. The pizza chef means business and delivers the goods. The event is not to be missed. The whole town (not tourists) fills the restaurant on weekends. Our room number 4 was spacious, modern, and ultra comfortable. With it came this great... More

After a couple of nights in Gangi, at the suggestion of that hotel, we drove over to Petrallia Suttano (not Soprano), and the Il Castello. It's up on top the hill and some care and patience is needed to get to it but once you see the first signpost it's not a problem. We were able to actually back up... More

We stayed here only one night, in November. A beautiful little mountain village, like staying in a castle, the owner very friendly and accommodating. Very quiet. Would liked to have more time here. But we know now it would be a nice place to return to. Great breakfast.

We stayed a couple of nights in late September in this delightful, secluded hotel and were charmed by its beautiful restoration and thoughtful owners and staff. Very pleasant welcome and a most comfortable room, full of character. Delicious breakfasts and excellent dinners in ll Castello's own un-signposted and busy restaurant. Many thanks.
