On the edge of Challans, this is a wonderful Château, surrounded by countryside and absolutely silent at night. The building is old but the rooms are beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. The restaurant food is excellent, if a little pricey. The staff are very friendly and excellent English is spoken if required. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again when in... More

Thank you so much! It is true, except the little birds at this season, to be located in the middle of a 17 acres park is really relaxing! I am really happy to read you had a nice stay. Of course we will welcome you with pleasure next time on the West coast!! More

We stayed one night in the chateau de la Verie in room 15. The stair case going up to the room is impressive. The room is very large and has a fire place and a window looking into the large garden. The furniture is from the time of the castle, giving the room a warm atmosphere (except for the bed,... More

Although this chateau is in a rather industrial part of Challans, once you enter the extensive grounds you are a million miles away and the building looms at the end of a long driveway. A perfect place for a summer wedding, the chateau has an imposing terrace with lots of tables and chairs for outside eating and a superb lawn... More

We stayed her for a night before checking in to our holiday rental and it was a very pleasant experience... We were up top and had our own turret which our little one loved, on arrival the tree lined drive does not set you up for the lovely picturesque chateau you are about to see, such a lovely site with... My stay in Chateau de la verie. The place is great. I love the castle as well as the surroundings. The huge park at the back give you plenty space to take nice relaxing walks. The room are specious and give you this nice Castle feeling. Breakfast is good and the restaurant is excellent. The chef and pastry chef are... More

Recently at the Château de la Vérie, a grand Royal Event took place at this castle. The staff were all professional and delivered the highest quality of service to the event. The castle was in its finest state and beauty. They made all of our requests available and exceeded our expectations, especially the Royal Crystal cake. They made the lead... More

You can see the Chateau in the distance as you travel down the long drive, mind the speed bumps. You turn left into the huge courtyard, and wow! There it is in front of you, an imposing sight. I am sure your welcome from the Dutch owners will be warm and helpful, as ours was. Walking around the large and... More

A lovely Chateau. We had a very large bedroom together with an Emperor size bed! well equipped , nice antiques throughout Very friendly reception , spoke fluent English, very helpful. Beautiful grounds, excellent location - quite close to the coast - St Jean de Monts is a great seaside town - wonderful beach. Unlike some Chateaus we have stayed in,... More

This is a stunningly beautiful hotel! It is full of antique furniture. Very comfortable bedrooms with excellent bathroom. In a very quiet location! Restaurant is very good though we found the lack of change in menu for the 3 nights we were there was a little limiting. Breakfast was lovely AND included! The swimming pool is not heated sadly, but... More

We stayed here for five days after a less than successful visit to the Dordogne. We needed to arrive three days early as our previous place (see Gavaudun) was so bad we had to leave early. The staff could not have been more accommodating to fit us in and it was a pleasant relief when we arrived and the chateau... More
