imagine if you will looking out from your window and see Egrets pottering on the river bank, Kingfishers swooping up and down the river bank. Early morning red squirrels playing at the back by the trees. Walking around the grounds, and spotting grass snakes basking in sunshine, fishes swimming in the river that surrounds the property. Looking up to the... More

We have just returned from a couple of weeks of travelling round SW France and this was our favourite of all the places we stayed. The apartments are lovely and well kitted out and the grounds are large and tranquil. The pool area is great, it even has wifi signal! Paulette can cook dinner if you are too lazy to... More

We have stayed at Salazar on numerous occasions. The accomodation is superb with comfortable beds and very well equipped kitchens. Each apartment has the most beautiful views over the surrounding countryside and there is nowhere better to while away an afternoon than finding a shady spot in the grounds. We have always been very well looked after by the host,... More

Moulin de Salazar is the stuff that dreams are made of: a water mill in a quiet valley, surrounded by fields with a glorious coppice near to one of France's most beautiful villages, Lauzerte. We wanted two nights away from other houses and with the facilities to cook in. Moulin de Salazar served us up a treat. Our one bed... More

We stayed for two weeks in Salazar and found it absolutely enchanting. The water mill is set in lovely grounds. We spent our morning and evenings having breakfast outside the apartment overlooking the river - absolute bliss. Paulette the owner is a lovely lady who couldn't have made us feel more welcome. This part of South West France is absolutely... More

Just returned from a weeks break. What a gem of a find, was a pleasure to meet Paulette and John ( who is helping out this year). Salazar is such an idyllic place,Paulette clearer shows such compassion for the watermill and ensures guests have a pleasant stay. Nothing is too much trouble, even down to saving the day with a... We have just had our THIRD wonderful holiday at Salazar and we were not disappointed. The gites, in the old watermill itself, are spacious and comfortable, with lots of fresh towels and everything you need for a great self catering stay - even an electric mixer for homemade mayonnaise to go with your evening BBQ! We adore the huge well... More

We spent a week at Salazar using it as a base and a place to relax. We booked this place from New Zealand were hopeful that it would be alright. It was. The welcome was friendly, the accommodation was superb and the setting was peaceful and inspiring. One cannot help the weather and we had 3 days of rain and... More

The Quercy area of France is spectacular - packed with tiny bastide towns atop stunning hills, and the Moulin de Salazar proved to be the perfect base for exploring. We booked one of the light, bright and beautifully equipped apartments for two nights (should have stayed a week). Our two dogs came along and were given a warm welcome by... More
