we stayed for 2 nights in mid Sept 2014 during a Rioja wine tour. The rooms are lovely, the staff very friendly and breakfast was wonderful. The town is charming in a lovely location in the foothills. Don't miss it.

First visited Echaurren 18 months ago, this time in Rioja for the wine festival. I said last time this was the best hotel I have stayed at, that is still the case. The strength of Echaurren is the "hands on" management and passion of brothers Felix and Francis which in turn rubs off on all the staff. I feel at... More

My husband and I recently stayed here as a base for touring the Rioja Valley. We couldn't ask for more in a hotel. The staff was friendly, room was clean and had a very comfortable bed. Great restaurants and bar onsite and within walking distance. The village was beautiful and quaint. Would definitely stay here again and go out of... More

From A to Z everything is perfect! I have been to many hotels over the last years but the way this hotel has been renovated and made its rooms into the perfect hotel room. i can only commend in the highest praise. The superior rooms are w/o breakfast, no problem at all. The price/quality is not right since there is... More

We stayed last night at the hotel, in one of the "older" cheaper rooms, but nothing could fault it. The amenities and cleanliness were top rate, and we had a wonderful view of the church. The young barman was very chatty, when he heard we came from Australia, and he could prepare a very mean gin and tonic. We talked... More

Firstly, if you are staying in Ezcaray - stay an extra night! I hope to one day stay for a week. It is a gorgeous mountain town with a stream and lovely walks. It is a fabulous spot to stay whilst exploring the Rioja wineries!! Our stay at the Echaurren Hotel was great! For EU80 for a recently renovated room,... More

We had the pleasure of finding this hidden gem while travelling through La Rioja. The El Portal restaurant came highly recommended from several locals "in-the-know" (owners of other restaurants, owners of wineries, hotel concierge) and it surpassed all of our expectations. From the minute you walk in the door you know you will be in for a world-class dining experience.... More

We loved this hotel! It is a surprising find in such a small village. The hotel has obviously been renovated somewhat recently as the rooms were very comfortable and modern. The staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The high point of our stay was the lunch we had at their restaurant. We had the tasting menu and... More

Ezcaray is a ski area in winter, and an outdoors destination in summer, with many rental apartments and lots of hiking and biking opportunities. The hotel is small, the rooms spacious with a very nice bath, our room had a tiny adjacent sitting room, too, and the rooms and the hotel are perfectly kept, neat as a pin, as the... More

We stayed only for one night and having arrived late, we were delighted with the comfortable bed, clean and clever design of the room and the amazing ham and cheese selection that room service arranged to be waiting for us in the room upon arrival; the complimentary bottle of Rioja was also very much appreciated! Breakfast was fantastic and had... More
