We went to this auberge because we had been here some 30 years ago and we liked it very much at that time. Also the ratings of Logis de France were maximal both for the lodging and for the food. On our way from Belgium to Spain, a nice stop we thought. Arriving there the first impression is OK. A... More

This hotel, well placed for touring the Loire Valley and its chateaux, is probably most suited for short stays. Well run, and with a good restaurant. The Auberge retains much local character, despite a new annex, which (together with a new large pool) seems to have compromised the advertised "good parking facilities". The dusty white gravelled parking surface was particularly... More

I’ve been at Auberge du Centre in June 2014 with my family and my dog, a german shepherd, and we had a really great stay The logis is situated in a quiet road through the small village of Chitenay, it’s clean and comfortable and free wi-fi is available. The staff is warm, professional and very helpful and the food is... More

We were on a cycling holiday and this hotel was booked for us. We were not disappointed. All of the staff were friendly and attentive, our room on the second floor was clean and pleasant overlooking the main street. We were woken to the sound of the church bells! The hotel has gardens to the rear with a lovely swimming... More

We are on a cycling tour and arrived at the hotel after a day of riding. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming despite my extremely poor French. Despite being such a small woman offered to carry up one of our very heavy suitcases, and at that time one of the chefs from the kitchen was walking by and she... More

The Auberge is situated on the quiet road through Chitenay and its ivy covered frontage is very appealing. Across the road is a typical village bar, a good place to sit in the sun and watch the world go by. The Chateau is just down a long road and driveway(no access to cars) and can be glimpsed from the main... More

On arrival we had just finished riding 40kms to get there and in the town where we were suppose to have lunch everything was closed. The owner then made us lunch (this was after 3) even though food wasn't normally served at that time, he baked rolls and threw in some strawberries and biscuits. It was very much appreciated!! We... We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions over the years and have considered it a treat. However, this time will be the last. We booked ahead, and were given a room with three beds (there are only two of us!) instead of an (empty as we later discovered) room opposite with two - cheaper, of course. However, the... More

We enjoyed our stay at this country hotel in Chitenay. We stayed here for two nights as part of our Loire Gastronomic Cycling Tour. The hotel is centrally located in Chitenay is an excellent option for visiting chateaus and other villages in the local area. Our room was spacious but not large, and was modestly appointed. Our room was on... More
