Very unusual place. The staff is excellent and very accommodating. We reserved the tower room, but had to move because a lot of smoke was coming in from the chimney located right next to the window. The replacement room was outstanding. Restaurant was great. Only real downside is no wifi, except in the lobby. Ate through my cell data pretty... More

Our first stay in a chateau and to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and a very good choice. The staff could not have been more helpful, the food was stunning (do book early as we reserved a table for the first night but the restaurant was full the following night and again when we were on our way back up... We stayed here with our family of 6 using two triple share rooms. The nice thing about the triple share was each had two rooms, so that there was a QB in one and the single in the other, giving more privacy. The rooms were spacious and comfortable as were the bathrooms. The chateau is charming and the staff couldn't... More

We stayed at chateau de Chissay on the first and last night of our cycling holiday in the Loire. On each occasion we had very comfortable accommodation with stunning views across the valley of the river Cher. The bathroom had spectacular mosaics. The plumbing was not quite so good. We were on the gastronomic menu which was delicious . Service... More

Sure this place has old creaky floors and windows, neats a coat of pain, has no wifi outside of the small reception area, and has no air conditioning - but you are likely here because you are visitng nearby castles like Chenonceau, Amboise, and d'Azay le Rideau and Chateau de Chissay really helps set the mood with its old world... We stayed for one night in early August having stayed 20 years previously. This time we took the kids. When we arrived in the heat of the day we relaxed around the lovely outside pool and then had a fantastic five course meal. The inner courtyard of the castle is very atmospheric and also very cool. The rooms are tastefully... More

We chose this hotel for its close proximity to attractions we wanted to visit in the area, primarily Chateau Chenonceau which is about 5 to 10 minutes away by car, and because it is an awesome looking castle. Also, the hotel had a pool which was a priority for my daughter. From reading the other reviews it appears some people... More

Rooms belove standards and absolutely over priced. The food at restaurant was very good, the breakfast was too poor and not racomanded. The hotel is old and not to clean. There was no wifi service unfortunately.

Stayed at this hotel 12 years ago and decided to return for my daughters 16th birthday, the castle is beautiful, the grounds are pretty and peaceful and the staff is so friendly. Our room was nice, the bathtub was huge but there needs to be a better air conditioning system, our room was quite warm. We ate in the hotel... More

We booked one night at Chateau Chissay at the end of our tour of The Loire; having just spent two nights at Chateau de Pray, it had a lot to live up to. Sadly it was in a different league. The chateau is pleasantly situated on top of a hill and looks impressive from the outside. It is also conveniently... More
