We stayed here 10 years ago, on a first date. Very romantic. So, to celebrate 10 years together we returned. Oh dear. 10 years ago the place was sad and run down and now 10 years on it is even worse. The staff are uninterested and rude, and somewhat surprising for a Hotel in the American Sector (D Day beaches)... More

Arrived late and were well looked after. The restaurant was fantastic. Room OK but bed too soft and window wouldn't open on hot night. Room smelt as though someone had been smoking there recently. Didn't get to use the swimming pool but it looked very inviting. Lovely greenhouses growing tomatoes. Grounds well kept, a brief but pleasant stay.

The hotel looked ok in the brochure but reality was very different! Oh dear, this is a place that is crying out for a lot of TLC, with investment. We stayed for 3 nights as we took our aging in laws or a tour of the D Day landings. The location and building acade is very special, however everything about... More

Scenic, peaceful location for our WWII & D-Day Normandy Landing Beaches base. Warmly welcomed by Reception. Stayed in the original building with a breath-taking garden view. Our room was spotlessly clean. Room style was dated with distinctly French 'vintage' décor; good hot water supply for bath; all in keeping with staying in an historic building. It was like a going... Chateau de Quineville may be one of the most peaceful places on earth, which is a little ironic considering its historical location. The grounds are elegant and bucolic, and you can look out over them from their nice dining room, where the food is terrific (particularly the salmon). I stayed in a newer room which was a little quirky; the... More

Rooms were cold but weren't too bad- hot water and a place to sleep, though you couldn't lock the door from the inside which was a bit odd! I think we were the only guests there at the time, the place was dead and the small towns around it were pretty much all shut up- no restaurants, no bars- nothing.... More

We were excited about the prospect of staying in a real Chateau with swimming pool and everything looked good on the photos. However,m the reality is a little different. The service was basic although the breakfast was OK and sufficient. As it is an old building, the plumbing left something to be desired. No real complaints however but perhaps a... More

There are a variety of rooms in this once great Chateau, and sadly some of them are small enough to go with the old joke, "even the mice were hunchbacked." Some of the out-buildings have rooms that do not have windows. The hotel has not had an upgrade since Kennedy was President. On the positive side the restaurant is nice,... More

Beautifully restored outside, unfortunately the rooms in the Chateau still need to be done: worn-out, thin-walled, very small. Nice restaurant.

I fell in love with the chateau. The rooms were large and we had plenty of room, large bath. The decor could be updated somewhat. I thought the breakfast was good and the meals we had in the evening were great. We had a huge get together one evening with out of town guests and they were very good to... More
