Lovely setting but both the hotel and the gardens need to be tidied up. The whole place has an air of not being well looked after... It's expensive for what you get. Rooms are nice enough and they are big but I think 290 euro is steep given the quality. Breakfast is pretty average. It's branded 4 star but I... More

Nestled in its own little sliver of nature, if you're looking for a quiet, tranquil retreat from hustle and bustle Le Manoir is a great choice. Situated in a quiet part of the French countryside where the nights are true black and silent except for the sound of crickets, it was lovely to be able to feel a change of... More

The owners welcomed us and made sure our stay was pleasant. We felt at home. The park is beautiful and very calm. The swimming pool is a plus. Each room is individually decorated and has its own personality. Only minus the wifi is slow.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

Stayed three nights here in July 2012 with my husband and teenage son. Despite it being high season, we were the only hotel guests. We were originally put in a tiny suite on the top floor that had no view as the windows were blocked but the owner/manager was more than happy to upgrade us to a more suitable suite... More

We stayed a week with our daughter , had lovely weather so were very pleased with the air -con. The suite in the orangery was perfect but the second room would definately be only for children but i expect is only booked as such. They had separate shower room whilst we had en-suite with bath & bidet. All new bathroom... More

We stayed in this hotel in Feb 2009 as a stopover before flying out from Bergerac Airport. Obviously it was a very quiet time for the hotel, in fact we were the only guests staying there at that time! In summary these are our thoughts: Good Points: - Very professional, friendly and attentive staff. - Lovely location, set in nice... More

We stayed with our four children for one night in July 2008. Our two rooms were situated in the orangary off the main building. The rooms themselves were oK. Ours was very large but smelt damp and the bathroom was in clear need of an upgrade. The childrens room, although being spacious was not of the standard one would expect... More

We spent a night at this hotel on our way to the south of France, and had a great experience. The hotel is located in a large and romantic park with a great lawn, many flower banks and large trees, next to a river. The building is a large, old style French manor with a grand entrance hall. The owners... More

Being mid-way between Sarlat and Bergerac this is ideally situated for exploring the region. The small chateau gives the impression of almost being an English coiuntry house with a pretty flower filled garden. Although it is right beside the Dordogne river you cannot really see it from ground level which is a pity. The "Privelige" room we had was on... More

We stayed here 3 nights in late June 08 - as other reviews have said it is a lovely old manor on the banks of the river. New owners took over in Nov 07 but I'm not sure if this has mad any difference - other than its fine dining restaurant no longer had a Michelin Star. The restaurant however... More
