Splendid hotel comprising of a converted manor house set in well tended and mature grounds. Upon arrival, my companion and I caused some consternation to reception when it was discovered that a misunderstanding in the booking process meant that there were no twin bed rooms available. The dilemma was solved quickly and efficiently by installing us in a luxurious two... More

We stayed at the Domaine Fompeyre last week as part of a package that was organised by Bordeaux Cycle Tours who were superb. Our stay included the Sunday which was a rest day so we were there for two nights. On our arrival on Saturday, the place was quite full. A local 'high society' wedding had been taking place and... Very nice room overlooking the outside pool. Worried about the wedding, but once closed the patio doors & figured out the air conditioning, we slept well. Very nice breakfast. Lovely grounds. Situated within walking distance of downtown Bazas.

We had a voucher entitling us to an excellent value suite which was very tranquil. However, despite appearing to understand my husband's requirements for a gluten-free meal, they managed to give him a severe dose, perhaps in the stock. So he had a very bad night in what would otherwise have been a delightful atmosphere. Bazas is a delightful village... More

When you arrrive here you cannot fail to be impressed with the whole look of the place. The beautiful hotel, grounds and tranquil setting is just what is needed after a long drive. The old fashioned outside is in total contrast to the room we had which was tastefully modern. The bathroom was great and everything was spotlessly clean. We... More

Domaine de Fompeyre is a charming hotel in the typical village of Bazas, with its beautiful gothic cathedrale. Our bedroom had a balcony with a view on the lovely garden of the Domaine where a donkey and a horse live. We were allocated a room that was very recently refurbished, at very international standard with a flat screen, air conditioned,... More

We recently spent two nights at The Domaine de Fompeyre, and enjoyed it - even though it was a bit pricey. Reception not too friendly, demanding a quick decision as to whether we would like to have dinner. Room was good, the surroundings beautiful, pool indoor and outdoor very lovely . this is a place to relax and enjoy yourself.

We (2 adults and a 2.5yr old toddler) thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room was basic but provided everything we needed; staff couldn't have been more kind and helpful; and the location was perfect. We happened to be there during the hottest weather of the summer, so the pool and the shaded outdoor dining tables were much appreciated. Highly... More

My room was perfectly adequate, clean and comfortable but I was staying alone. The room would be small for a couple. It has been renovated fairly recently so the bathroom and air conditioning were both great. Outside restauarant/bar area is lovely to sit outside over a drink. Other observations: Pool is pleasant but very small, so if you want to... More

Booked a 1 night stay with our children in the family suite. Right here's the good news....the family suite is excellent, perfect for families in every way, although the shower is very weak. Nice quiet location, free parking, reasonable breakfast and lovely staff. Now the bad points....the hotel decor is half stuck between the 1980's and 2013 and confused. The... More
