Here is what I call perfect hosting in a wonderful relaxing environment. From the minute we arrived we knew Villa Rosa would be wonderful but we did not fully anticipate the level of wonderfulness!! Anne-Rose and her staff are so friendly and helpful and make you feel like you are visiting family. The breakfasts are typical French but with the... More

We learned about Villa Rosa from The Times ’50 Best Holidays in France’ (it was No 32), and the qualities mentioned there were evident during our stay. The heady scent of a profusion of flowers in the garden welcomed us, our room was large, the hydra-headed shower complex but effective and the bed very comfortable. Anne-Rose took care to establish... More

If you are looking for a place that looks old, like staying at grandma's countryside house old, then this is the perfect place for you. All areas look quite chaotic, rooms are "renovated", but they should have done a better job with the bathroom. Our bathroom had some mold in between the tiles, the water in the shower would just... 1. Children unfriendly atmosphere. (okay, maybe next time when the kids are grown?) 2. No fire alarms/smoke detectors. (maybe bring one yourself?) 3. Hallway to room clogged with old newspapers. (hoarders? fire hazard - yikes!) 4. DOORS LOCKED FROM INSIDE AT NIGHT. NO WAY OUT. 5. Booked 2 night stay. Boogied after 1. 6. We only stay at B&B's so... More

Villa Rosa is a bit of a strange place. On arriving you think: 'what a bric-a-brac is this?' but it doesn't take very long to be swept up in the whole ambiance. We had a big room at first with 4 beds (for two people) and a huge shower. It was clean and the bed was good - but the... More

This hotel is like several others in France where we have stayed since 1980 - a perfect country home that works well as a base hotel while traveling in the Alsace region. The rooms are spacious, filled with folk art and historical photos, clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. Breakfasts and dinner featured the good food of Alsace and were always... More

It's a while since we stayed here but it's certainly not value for money. Madam Rosa's eco approach is interesting, but it's all a bit hit and miss. Chipped china, helping yourself to the cutlery from the drawer, strange food - not worth the rate. Don't worry about the roads, take your time, look at the wonderful views, and drive... More

I can provide a bill from my stay if proof is needed - but you need to know that this place has seen better days but still charges as though it is in it's heyday that past sometime ago. Living off past reviews, the owner has let the property go. Sadly, the pool is a dirty mess and the interior... More

Dirty fire trap. We were locked INSIDE the hotel the one night we stayed --- you must use a key from the inside to get out and the one set of keys we had did NOT work to the front/main entrance. Not suitable for kids or elderly. Long dark hallways with little lighting -- piles of stuff everywhere that must... More
