We were so pleasantly surprised to find this truly wonderful restaurant only a short walk from our hotel. The food and service was so fantastic we looked no further and ate here both nights of our stay. Our only regret was that we were not staying here - it is creatively appointed and exudes warmth and hospitality. The menu is... More

We arrived at this lovely hotel too late for dinner - we were very tired and hungry after a long drive through Italy and Switzerland. However the lovely lady who met us at reception arranged for a simple but delicious platter of charcuterie, cheeses, salad and bread, which with a bottle of excellent wine, made us feel much better. The... More

We spent one night in this very pretty little village- it was on the first night of a walking trip through the vineyards of Alsace. Our room was well appointed- the king size bed was in a loft above the living area. There was also a huge bath which was a bonus at the end of a day of hiking.... More

We have stayed in Alsace four or five times in the past but always in the main tourist area. This Hotel is situated some thirty minutes from there and is in a quiet unspoilt village. The hotel is quiet with extremely friendly owners and staff. At the time of our stay we were the only resident British people and were... More

We were fortunate enough to stumble upon this lovely inn by accident. We stopped and had lunch, which turned out to be one of the best meals that we had in France, including Paris. We attempted to eat there again, but they were booked for that day and we were leaving the next day. I would certainly say to go... More

Stayed five nights 1/9/13-5/9/13.All meals well presented, especialy sweets. The final meal was Choucroute Alsacienne-a huge plater of hot mixed meats and potatoes piled high around a heap of choucroute (a type of pickled cabbage) which four of us could not finish.Breakfast were buffet type consisting of cerials, breads, cold meats, cheese and hard boiled eggs (or soft boiled to order). Friendly staff, comfortable duplex suites with stunning views of the Rhein valley from this high-meadow village in the Voges. Start your day with marvelous 2-hour walks through the woods to Bergheim, Ribeauville, & St Hypolite - to Michelin bib-gourmand and one-star restaurants, with castles along the way. The call for a Taxi to take you back up the mountain to... More

What a great find we made while exploring the Alsace Wine Route. Just off the beaten track hidden in the mountains is the little village of Thannenkirch. The staff were friendly and very helpful, we were shown a collection of rooms to choose from. They were spacious, had an enclosed balcony and had great views. We took the half board... More

Like the previous reviewer we didn't stay in the hotel but I felt that I had to post a review saying how good the dinners were. So good we went back for a second time. Modern cooking but not too fancy, and friendly and efficient service. We really didn't expect such a high standard. If you are staying at the... More

While staying at the Haut-Koenigsbourg (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g1079317-d2278473-Reviews-Hotel_Haut_Koenigsbourg-Thannenkirch_Haut_Rhin_Alsace.html) we went to eat to La Meuniere, great kids menus and adult food too. Don't be fooled by the high french restaurant atmosphere, service is great and down to earth, but still good for an especial occasion. Great view from the terrace.
